I literally shed a tear with the first episode. I understand the daughter point but mama was broken because she was really trying to tell her. I really believed her when she said she brought her over her father’s home many times.

1st case, her resentment toward her mom is blinding her from believing anything her mom says. You can tell her mom is trying so hard to explain to her that she has done the absolute best she could and has tried to tell her the truth. And everything her mama says just goes over her head. Hopefully they can build that relationship back up now that she knows her mama wasn't lying to her.

Why is no one criticising Mr Long for his absolute disregard for his daughter? Never making the effort to even try to get to know her or try and get confirmation as whether she was his daughter or not.
The daughter is full of resentment and this definitely clouded her ability to see her Mom’s efforts or pain. I hope they can forgive and move forward.

We didn’t see how the mother treated her growing up. We don’t know what going through the daughters mind. It’s easy to judge when we don’t see what was going on behind the cameras. The daughter was told multiple different names by her mom and her mom was dismissing her feelings.
The daughter was trying to explain how not having her real father affected her but her mom kept saying “you had a dad he may not have been your real dad but he was there” basically dismissing her feelings. I grew up knowing who my father was but not having him around and that alone made me resentful towards my mom and my grandparents because I wanted my father. But what I’m trying to say is
The child in you, who longed for a father, comes out when faced with the possibility that you may or may not have found your father. She has a right to be upset. I definitely think she should have tried to be nicer but the child in her, just wants to yell and cry and find her daddy.

Yeah usually I believe the kids but the Mom's story makes more sense, including the daughter's level of personal success. The Mom joined the army and had her daughter raised in a 2 parent home with her grandparents. Once she had that career she stayed in her daughter's life. She gave good reason at the time for not being able to contact the father who she had to speak to in secret and who was ready to wash his hands of the situation. As her mother had taken her to him so many times and gave the child at 10yo the name and showed him to her by visiting, I think this super bright little girl chose NOT to believe this guy who looked like her, whose sister she resembled was mot her father because of something she perceived as not so bright in him.

It's so sad 😞, I did not know my father I was almost 20 years old, I'm in my 50s now and we don't communicate much. My father hop off with his side woman leaving his wife which is my mother, leaving her to struggle and suffer wit us, so I know it's not easy growing without a father but it does now give you the rights to speak to your mother like that !

Exactly. My father was married to my mother. He was in the home. Never spent time with me. Never said I love you and never hugged me. Never attended anything with me.
My mom struggled and took care of us. She was mom and dad. I can’t relate to the daughter.
She is 35 years old and a mother and a grandmother

My sister died of ovarian cancer, so I assumed that I must have it as well, and spent the week waiting for a gyno/ob appt just assuming I was going to die. When I finally got to the dr, I discovered I was 13 weeks pregnant! I literally said, "I'm not dying?" and the dr looked at me like I had two heads. I went home and told my husband I was pregnant...I told him 13 weeks...he asked, "How the heck did you get 13 weeks pregnant and not know?" I told him I didn't know!!

He got it done for his (now ex) wife who was my age at 23 then, but they never got pregnant. So when they divorced my dad slept with other women, he didn't think he could conceive until he did. So now here I am as the oldest with a baby brother that is a lil over 24 years younger than me! Things work in mysterious ways and God does miracles. My dad is still single (he's better off that way in my opinion), and co-parenting with my brother's mother really well. I am proud of him.
