I recommend your site to all my friends that want to learn how to crochet after seeing what I’ve done. When COVID hit and we were all stuck at home I had to DO SOMETHING so I watched your videos and learned how to crochet! After three years my house is full of things I’ve made. I can’t thank you enough for your videos and your wonderful way of teaching! YOU’RE THE BEST! ❤ a faithful spider
Keep on keeping on ; lt's just that easy. Thank you for this ; i do love me some miles of garter stitch , a pattern that is finished when i've used all the yarn , and not having a pointy little point pointing at my bottom .
Oh, I found a new way to get at it!!! Now, I search "happy mail", and there is a thumbnail (I said thumbprint on my last comment. OOPS. 😊) to choose "play all". I am so happy to have them all at my fingertips again and that you don't need to do any thing to make it work. 😊 Thank you for all you do to provide us with wonderful tutorials and keeping in touch with us. We love you perhaps more than you can know.
I really love a good shawl/shawlet, like you I wear them as a neck warmer. A another wonderful creation from the mind of a great fiber artist! Thank you ❤ Yes, this does scream let the colorway be the star of the show.
Love this. Yes, it does seem simple, thanks to your clear direct instruction. I have a pretty 3 weight yarn that I want to use for me. I think this may be the project. Thank you very much!
LOVELY!! I used Loops & Threads “Flecks” in the colorway 16-b (a cream-ish with blue flecks & pearlescent sheen). It came out beautifully!! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this great video… and I learned how to do a stretchy bind off!😃….. I’m a big believer in using variegated/textured wool… it helps to hide my mistakes lol… subscribed 👍
Thanks for another great pattern and clear instructions. I used about 1 and 1/2 balls of premier sweet roll & striping came out great. Going to do another with some Red Heart stripes.
Love the colorway - I’m an autumnal colors kinda gal! I like the Icelandic bind off for a stretchy bind off as another choice. Although I like the bund off you used also!
It would be interesting to see this done alternating knit and purl stitch instead of all knit. I am trying it and not sure I am getting the increases correct.
For knitters who want to practice doing knitted on borders, this shawl lends itself to that perfectly because you en up with masses of live stitches on the end. You can go as fancy or as simple as you want. The main thing is that you need to know how many live stitches you end up with before starting with your border. If you like a lace knitted border that consists of a multiple of 10, you will beed to have that multiple of 10 at the end. If the border consists of a multiple of 4 rows, you will need a multiple of 4 live stitches, etc. But besides that, you can basically do your thing. I think with this shawl. As it’s got a row of eyelets set off by a border of 3 stitches on garter stitch, a beat way to finish it off would be: Last ‘regular’ row: knit 3, yarn over, *knit 2 together, yarn over*, repeat from * to * until you’ve got three stitches on your needles. Turn your work. Keep the live stitches on your needle. Cast on three more stitches. Those are your border stitches. Knit 2 stitches. Knit that 3rd border stitch together with the 1st live stitch of your actual shawl. Turn your work. Knit the next live stitch together with your first birder stitch. Knit to the end of your border row. Keep repeating this. There is a trick on how to wrap your yarn around the live stitches to avoid tension issues and large holes. I lack the skills to explain it clearly by writing it out. I’m sure there are videos on it. Also: as you have a lot of yarn overs to kind of mimic the ones along the curved edge of the shawl, some knitters might prefer adding a row of ‘regular’ knitted stitches before starting their knitted on border. But that’s dependent on personal preference and skill level. I love this simple pattern, thank you for sharing it! It’s also the perfect ‘template’ for any combination of knit/purl textural patterns without increases and decreases in the shawl itself: several rows of purls alternating with several rows of knits for example, ‘boxes’ created by alternating knits and purls, basketweave patterns, you name it. As long as you remember that each row you have 2 more stitches to take into account. That doesn’t necessarily involve a lot of counting if you’ve taught yourself to visually recognise the difference between knits and purls, garter stitch and stockinette stitch. There ate so many fun patterns out there you can use. And if they’re geometric, your shawl stays reversible. Happy knitting!
Please please make this in crochet please.❤.I'm trying to get a pattern for a Sontag.. it's in the movie overland.. it can be crossed in front and buttoned at the back under the large V that comes down the back 🙏
I’m a bit confused !! Is there any decreases , how many stitches before the bind off ? Thank you for your help. I’d like to knit some for some patients in a nursing home .
Fiber Spider, I often play your vlogs in a continuous stream both to give you more ad play and to be able to hear your Happy mail, etc. I access this by searching "vlogs" and selecting the choice to play all on one of your thumbprints. It no longer gives me that opportunity. Would you please add it back? I really like being able to listen to all your "this, that, and the other" videos. 😊 Thank you!
Hi all if this is not allowed please ignore it. But I am in desperate need of some yarn. I am disabled and can't afford anything. I crochet for therapy for PTSD. I HAVE no yarn at all. If someone can gift it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all

Love it!!❤
Hey @fiberspider how many stitches to knit up to on a pair of 4mm needles?
Please please make this in crochet please.❤.I'm trying to get a pattern for a Sontag.. it's in the movie overland.. it can be crossed in front and buttoned at the back under the large V that comes down the back 🙏
I love the crescent shape, but I want a shawl that's not so wide and a little deeper. How could I use this pattern to achieve that?
Lol screaming children lots of noise and an irate spouse, mostly here I have some one talking 😂😂😂😂 great project thank you
Wow simple as that 😂❤
I’m a bit confused !! Is there any decreases , how many stitches before the bind off ? Thank you for your help. I’d like to knit some for some patients in a nursing home .
No decreases at all, just two increases every row. You just knit until the top edge is long enough for what you're going for.
Do you have a crochet one also?
🇧🇷❤️🌻LINDO OBRIGADA 😘
