FABULOUS! Her voice explodes with color!
She is a vocal phenomenon. Absolutely amazing!
@spenzur yes! she does have a furie terribili on here i think.
The brass should give up playing, They are astonishingly dreadful!
Brilliant! As wonderful as ever!
@Anibaal Creo que en este video ella tiene 55 años.
Amazing trumpets
Horrible orchestra! Ewa is amazing.
Or la tromba in suon festante Mi richiama a trionfar. Qual guerriero e qual amante, Gloria e amor mi vuol bear
Playing Norma or Adalgisa? Don't know if she could pull off Norma at this age...
Definitely Adalgisa. Even though she does have a supernatural vocal range, I think Norma was always out of her reach.
I saw her sing Adalgisa. Probably too matronly sounding for the role but vocally she sang it very beautifully
@spenzur i agree! she should record it i hope she has a cd coming out
Someone should send the trumpet home .... he kills a wonderful performance
Thee does realize that the aria is ABOUT the trumpet? "Now the trumpet in a joyful sound
It calls me to triumph."
@harpsy59 Well put!!! =))
FANTASTICA!
this is great! why wont cecilia bartoli sing this too? she would be AWESOME! with that huge trill of hers!
Interesting. I'm sure she has the bottom, and maybe the top (haven't heard her sing recently) notes for the role, but not sure she has the general heft to her voice. It will be interesting to hear. :) Hopefully she'll cut out some of her trademark machine gun ha-ha-ha coloratura. :P
Her voice is positively enormous. Trust me
I hope no other singer tries to imitate this woman singing. The way she bobs her head is truly odd! Call an exorcist!!!! It sounds like she's starting to have trouble reaching and sustaining her high notes. With such an unusual technique, it doesn't surprise me at all.
@oliviasmulyan She is recording Bellini's ''Norma'' now, but that can take a long time. So if she is going to record a baroque cd after Norma, it will take some years before it gets published. Ahhh that sucks xD At least she is going to play in some opera's. I also hope ''Le comte ory'' with Cecilia will be released on dvd! Cecilia also said to have a revolutionary suprise! I am very curious about that!!!
@oliviasmulyan Hahah yes, Im the one who filmed her performance of Furie Terribilli mwuahaha xD But it isn't a very good quality so thats why I said she should record it ;)
@oliviasmulyan YES! There is so much Bartoli has to sing! I really want her to sing Vivaldi's aria '' Sorge l'irato nembo'' and she has to record Handel's aria ''Furie Terribilli''! ANd of course much more! :P
No Bartoli will sing Norma. Sumi Jo shall be singing Adalgisa.
Bartoli will sing Norma. She maked her debut as Norma last year (concert form), and that was a very succesfull one. In the recording she will also sing Norma. SUmi Jo will sing Adalgisa. Ive only heard her sing ''In mia man'' but that sounded very dramatic. So I think the recording of her Norma will be amazing!
And Bartoli will sing Norma next year in Salzburg, in opera form!
