Słuchałam wielu kontratenorów i kontraltów wykonujących tę arię, ale tylko Ewa Podleś oddała ból i cierpienie, jakie doznaje kochanek po stracie swojej oblubienicy i dlatego tak jej wykonanie porusza słuchacza. To nie jest tylko doskonała technika to również gra aktorska. Ewa Podleś powiedziała kiedyś "W istocie jestem aktorką". Ta śpiewaczka bardzo dużą uwagę przywiązuje do tego jakie przesłanie jest w tekście. Dla niej tekst i jego artykulacja jest najważniejsze. Oczywiście wszyscy co tu piszą zgodzą się również ze mną że jej głos jest fenomenem.

Absolutely breath taking!!! So beautiful and appropriate color. I didn't hear anywhere HEAVY VIBRATO or UGLY notes. Please, keep your nasty comments to yourself. This is one of the most magnificent voices of the century and she sounds the same for over 30 years, which means she has phenomenal technique and knows how to preserve her voice.
Gorgeous, richly textured voice. Nathalie Stutzmann has a similar voice.

I love Ewa singing Mahler, but I am less satisfied with her singing castrato arias. I prepared a video with her singing Cara Sposa but decided not to upload it. Her voice has such a feminine timbre and with heavier vibrato. I have listened to so many performances (including a few good ones by women) and have been able to compare them carefully. The most satisfying for me for timbre, breath capacity, technique, and interpretation is Dmitry Egorov. More Cara Sposa lovers should hear him.
