Busy Week at Dragonman's Machine Shop

- Let me show you a few jobs I'm working on today. This is Dragonman's Machine shop, located in Colorado Springs. We are open 9:30-4:00 every day except Monday, unless Monday is a major holiday. We are open all the major holidays.
If you need any of this work done, give me a call 1st and let me know what you want done. Pack you motor really good and ship it FedEx or UPS. If it is a complete motor it will have to go trucking company.

I was literally just going to post "Dragonman should live forever"
I live eight miles from the Man. See him buying groceries at local stores. Pay to use his ranges often and would not even consider going anywhere else for a firearm purchase. It is really cool on a warm high plains weekend. Late May to mid November if you come here on purpose. Winter sucks at 7,200 feet in elevation.
I can't comprehend the amout of machining and automechanical knowledge and skill this guy must have to do this. As a 19 year old in machining school, I dream of being like Mel someday.

I was blessed with the nickel tour of Dragonmans machine shop over 35 years ago. My Grandfathers brother Herold McCracken was pals with Mel. Mel sent me home with a pile of t-shirts n bumper stickers. My mother freaked out. I was all smiles. Years later, I became a ASC certified master machinist n technician. Needless to say, Mel planted that seed and is a real professor when it comes to custom builds. Not just HD! No matter how big n popular hes became. He's always answered my phone calls. This is mind blowing the amount of knowledge this man has!!!!!!….the machine shop is spotless and organized like a operating room!!!!….everything has its place and everything is in order of the job that is being done ✅….I’ve watched this man’s channel for a couple of years now and I am absolutely amazed by everything he’s doing at any given time!!!!!!!!….just a outstanding channel and content to watch!!!!!!!

I was a tool and die maker for over 40 years. Served an apprenticeship between 78 to 82. All this makes sense to me.

It's good that there still guys like you. Most shops don't want to work on the older motors anymore keep up the good work. I know that your a one man shop but you need to find an apprentice to get it going when you can't anymore we need guys to keep the vintage motorcycle going.
You are an inspiration to aspiring machinist/mechanics/bikers. Really like your shop, I'm a retired tool maker and sure do miss the freaking smell of the shop! I'll be watching to see more and maybe get to visit someday. Happy trails

Dude, how do people have this much information in their heads? I forget what I had for lunch, haha. I wish I could learn half of what he's talking about. I'm a woodworker, but machinists have always fascinated me because of how accurate everything needs to be.

We used to be neighbors in the early 90's. your shop has expanded a lot. I believe at that time you were only cutting ports and had just started selling firearms. I'm happy you're doing so well.

A few months ago he mentioned that he was starting a training program but I haven’t heard anything since.
Dragonman you do us bikers a great service , Sadly I had 3 good friends that did that kind of work for me . Unfortunately they have all passed away ,In my 70s now and I salute you . Just had another brother of mine pass Vietnam Vet . The best HD mechanic and small engine guy you ever wanted to know . Just a swell guy always willing to help out a fellow. This man is truly one of the most incredible human beings alive. The knowledge he has over such a broad spectrum of everything badass is incredible. A true American legend. I will never take for granted the time I got to meet him and tour his compound. It was much smaller than but in no way less impressive. I'm blown away by this man. I wish he was my father or grandfather. Anyone that has the chance to go to his place. Don't hesitate. He's so humble and so friendly. He loves people and loves sharing his knowledge. The more interest you show the more he will show you without hesitation. You'll never hear him say I don't have the time. They don't make men like dragon man anymore, and that is a fact! I don't know where he finds the time and energy. I complain about having to get up in the morning and go to work. Dragon man is a machine!!!
Definitely needs to have someone learning todo what he knows. Always interesting to see what he can do.

What an IMPRESSIVE and organized shop you have, Sir. Makes me wonder how you know where to start each day. You must some kind of system for keeping the workflow going.
A ton of skill and not learned overnight, you must of had the aptitude for doing this kind of work. Its a lonely life and yet we never get lonely when working, just miss the air in the hair... if ya still have some. Won't bore you with my time or troubles I did encounter doing some of this kind of work

This video confused me? I live a few properties North and I am a master machinist and electrician. I have been shooting at his ranges since 2017. Good Lord I should speak to him for an occasional weekend of help when he needs to get caught up. It's my Christian duty. I make money during the week. Dragoman would be just for fun on my weekends.
