    Just about to go back to cross stitch after a break of 20 odd years. Couldn’t find my hoops so I’ve just ordered a nurse hoop

    Thanks for the review! I think I’ll try them out. I love the stitch pattern! Can you share where you got it? I’d love to make it for my daughter. ❤ Have you tried the nurge stand?

      I have really liked using them. The pattern is from The Witchy Stitcher. www.thewitchystitcher.com/product-page/stay-home-pdf-pattern This is the link. I got the PDF or I would give it to you. The Nurge stand with all the articulating connections is next on my list to try and review- the table/lap stand. If you’ve tried it, I’d love to know what you think. Thanks so much for watching!

      My little pink hoop was from Michael’s but they don’t seem to sell them anymore. The Nurge hoop is the closest thing to it that I’ve tried except for the shape. Thank you so much for watching!!

    Hi, thanks for the review. I use hoops but I do not use a stand. What size to you find is the the least tiring to hold?

    • @stitchinglis
      @stitchinglis  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks so much for watching. I haven’t tried a stand yet either so I find the 6 inch hoops the easiest to hold but of course there is less space to work in and if your fabric is big it hangs over but I can do ok with an 8 inch hoop too. So those two sizes are least difficult to hold for me.

    I find that round hoops are uncomfortable to hold so I switched to qsnaps but I tried the nurge and it’s like the best of both. “Square” so easy to hold but not as bulky. I’ll have to try it with my frame. I forgot I had them!

    Have placed stitched areas in the ridgeline of the hoop? Does the ridge ruin it?

    • @stitchinglis
      @stitchinglis  6 місяців тому

      I have had to overlap my stitches in the ridge line and the stitches were fine but the piece did need to be ironed. I iron my piece on the back side. It seemed to work well. Thanks so much!!

    I bought them but can’t get the cloth to catch. What am I doing wrong? My cloth is very heavy

      I’m not sure without seeing the problem but I know when I’ve had stiff aida it can be a challenge to get it into a hoop. What I do is first, make sure to open up the outer hoop far enough that your fabric actually fits inside. Then I kind of squish the outer hoop shut around the fabric holding it in there. Then I start to tighten the screw. As I get it tight enough, the fabric catches and I can adjust the tension. If the screw is not tight enough before I adjust tension, the outer hoop pops off. So really tighten it down before pulling to adjust tension. I hope this helps!!
