    Hi friend! I lost mine too, but it's slowly coming back. This is a great video, like seasons we change and need a break. Self care is so important for all of us! I just recently picked up my crochet again, and it felt so good!!! Talking to friends helps also. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! ❤

    Hi Stitching Lis, Great to see your flosstube ! This one will resonate with so many people and so many hobbies. Having more than one hobby is such a joy :) One doesn't watch the same show 24/7. Flipping channels to keep our attention is just like having different hobbies. I haven't quilted since December , nothing sparked interest, then just last week a pattern caught my eye ! Now I'm looking forward to the quilty months ahead. Weather can also play a part. When it's cold and cloudy I can stitch while sitting under a fleece blanket and feel cozy. When the sun shines and the sky is blue , making the fabrics come alive I enjoy sewing much more. I know Spring is on the way and birds will chirp and the sewing bug will return. I enjoy cross stitching and just looking at my embroidery floss sparks joy. I'm sure there are a lot of creative stitchers out there that crochet or knit as well. Another stitchy flosstuber just last week asked the question if we, the viewers , would like to see his crochet/knitting work. Of course ! You should as well :) I don't crochet or kint but enjoy seeing what others can make. Being a flosstuber must put on pressure as well. You're dong great and have really pulled a lot of suject matter together each episode . I really enjoy watching. Take care.

    Great subject! I have learned that my interest cycles through my hobbies and sometimes it's just a matter of life getting in the way. I love to read, so I try to listen to audiobooks when I stitch or knit, that way I'm multitasking my hobbies. I also don't let myself feel guilty about not stitching. I know I still love it, and I will come back to it. Trying to make myself stitch doesn't work, such as setting a daily stitch goal or participating in a challenge. Forcing myself to stitch becomes a chore and not enjoyable, which is what our hobbies are supposed to be. When the mood strikes, I'll pick up a smaller stitch and that brings me joy, which will usually lead me back into the swing of things.

    I really like this idea. ❤ Thanks for sharing. This year for me will be a Stash Dive and not random purchases. I want my stitching to be intentional and tell a story after I’m gone. I hope that makes sense. 😂

    Hi Stitching Lis, Looks like a cozy three months ahead with all those beautiful patterns and textures. Robin's Spring caught my eye :) We have had days of cold temperatures covered in fog. Great to see Stitcher's Alphabet ! I cut different colours of 14 cnt aida in 3 inch squares. When I kit a few letters, I can chose floss and aida for each and organise them in small ziplock bags. A cozy way to spend time with cross stitch. Thanks for showing how you organize your fabrics and patterns! Thanks for an inspiring flosstube !

      Robin’s Spring is super pretty and it’s part of a seasonal series! I like your approach to Stitcher’s Alphabet! How do you plan on FFO’ing them? I chose to do them all on one piece of fabric but I’m sort of regretting it. I like your idea better. Thanks so much for watching!!

    Ohhhhhhhhhh. So this is what you meant. Hmm. Maybe I should take non active wips out of hoops/qsnaps. I know that sounds silly and “duh” but if I do that maybe I can find my cozy winter projects! And that cup of blessings is completely totally adorable!!! And the coastal village! Stop stop!

    • @stitchinglis
      @stitchinglis 21 день тому

      Yes, this is the plan that required organizational bins. If going through your non-active WIPs would help you find your cozy stitching, then I say do it!! Although I think you’ve got some really great active WIPs that are super cozy! Thanks so much for watching!!

    Hi Stitching Lis, Happy New Year ! This flosstube went by so quickly ! Lots of great content as always :) Those Downton Abbey charachters Look great ! Were there so many ? :) Cherry Blossom ! Very tempting after searching online ! Counting , I can count a section a few times and still come out wrong . No distractions , ro radio or tv. Just me :) Frog ! New te me term :) Star pillow is looking good ! " Change the needle, change the thread, adjust the tension and try again" sewing quote online. :) Such as the right tool for the right job . Mystery on navy aida :) January is looking so colourful ! Stitcher's Alphabet by Brookesbooks ! I just found and downloaded it last week :) It looks like fun ! Your idea to plan 1 per two weeks makes it sound doable. I'll stitch along . You printed it all out already ! You're so organised :) I use 1 liter ziplock bags for small kitted up projects. I love to see all those colours. Looking forward to seeing how your 25 for 25 choices grow . Cross stich with SPARK ! Joy ! Creating new designs ! Cross Stitch passion ! Downton Abbey alphabet is wonderful. so cute! It is frustrating to like a chart, want to stitch it, but find it so difficult that one just cannot. I have one like that. It is about 80 percent done and I am determined to get it over with in January. You are right about needles. The right size changes everything; the thread carries better and lies correctly. It is a game changer. Have a lovely day.

    My plan is to try to limit pattern purchases to exclusive patterns or time sensitive patterns. For example, I purchased Kathy Barracks winter sampler because I wanted to participate in a SAL with stitch friends. And I'll purchase patterns like the exclusives you can only get at Jingle Ball. I have a HUGE pattern stash that needs to slow down. lol.

    Why did you stop using needle minders while stitching? I do not use them either. Why are scissors and needles addictive? I struggle not to buy them. My favorite is size 26 needle and I have plenty. The upcoming year is a very low buy for me; items must be at a thrift store, yard sale, etc. I need nothing and refuse continual adding to stash in storage totes. You can do this. Keep us informed how the journey goes.

      I stopped using needle minders because I found they were interfering with my stitching flow. It didn’t feel natural to have them on my fabric - I kept sticking my needle other places. When I started using pin cushions, it really worked for me. I hope you have a great year!! Thanks so much for watching!

    Love these ideas for changes, Lis. I’m currently test driving various needles. Truly disliked Pony, but I’ve been enjoying Bohin. Piecemakers are in my queue. I also enjoy stitching on Aida. Counting Lugana and linen is too stressful. Decades ago, I used a hoop, then I discovered scroll frames, and I loved both. I’ve been using a QSnap with my Long Dog since May, and I’m not loving it, but I don’t want to change halfway through because I feel it will change my tension. I do want to try a Nurge on my next small project. Good to know it keeps your fabric taut. Looking forward to viewing more of your videos!

      Thank you so much!! I’m glad you like Bohin and will be curious to know if you like Piecemakers. I agree with you about fabric. I find it a strain to use evenweave and linen. Amazing that you’re doing a Long Dog! So exciting! Nurge hoops are very good! I hope you like them. Thank you so much for watching!!
