I watched the movie about it and its a pretty good movie

@@bikeman1x11 That's where you're wrong. There are 2 fundamentally important differences: the USSR achieved its goals and technically the Afghan conflict of 1979-1989 was not a war for the USSR. Otherwise more than 200 divisions would have been sent there, not just a dozen.

1) Сталина при Афганской войне уже не было ибо-же он к тому моменту уже умер(
2) Противогаз был почти не нужен в Афганской войне, потому-что хим. оружие запретили ещё после 1 мировой войны
3) СССР воевал не с Афганцами, а с Америкой (Афганцы включаются если: партизаны, повстанцы, интернационал и т.д.)
ибо-же суть войны в Афгане это провоз Америкой наркотики (и подобные вещества) на территорию Афган (далее по распространению)

@@maximtudor3965 Before the war, the afghan's communists started a revolution and took power (USSR was not involved from what I know). They soon started reforming the country but were opposed by the islamic opposition which then started a civil war. The Soviet Union then came in to help keep in place the communist regime. It also appears that prior to the civil war the USSR didn't intervene in any way to oppose or support anyone. So, they indeed didn't wanted to go to war at first but were quite forced because of afghan's neighbouring countries getting involved (among other reasons obviously).
But, you know, instead of insulting what he first wrote you could have simply checked by yourself and you would have learned quite a few things. Granted, it's good practice to bring a proof (or more) for a claim but youtube comments aren't really suitable for that.
