I really wish they would make a new Sidekick with flagship specs. As a person that has owned almost every phone under the sun, the Sidekick will always be my favorite phone off all time.

But now it would be pointless using it in 2024 as everything is obsolete on that phone and unusable now. This along many others back in my time, should be put in a musuem, 😅... The good old days.. The app store doesn't work on a Sidekick 4G but you can install apps with ADB (Android Debug Bridge). Look for apps compatible with Android 2.2 (Froyo), get the apk files and install them. devsjournal.com/download-minimal-adb-fastboot-tool.html

hey I know this may be a dumb odd question but when did you get this phone? Ive been wanting another Sidekick so bad but not if the screen doesnt swivel. this one seems to swivel! The more recent models just had the push up screen ): Ill definitely buy if they bring back the old screens from 2007
Yes and now you have to have one that the battery works for starters and he would have to get an adapter to make the new Sim card fit because most of them on a micro cards now with sim cards and then for data I’m not sure exactly how that would work because it technically wouldn’t need unlimited data so they have to put you on some sort of legacy plan that is an advertised but the other issue would be even for data all the networks have been shutting down more and more of their networks to G and 3G so a lot of services might not be able to connect to a depend on the bands that are in that sidekick as well as a lot of the servers from danger which was one of the software companies on the sidekick are out of business and Colosi now since literally nobody has the phones anymore and a lot of the services like MySpace instant messenger Aim Yahoo! Messenger are nonexistent at this point you would pretty much at best probably be able to just maybe send text messages and probably make phone calls it would literally premature be for nostalgic reasons
There is a 4G version that came out in 2011 that has android and T-Mobile slow version of 4G it doesn’t have the swivel screen the screen slides out automatically because it’s a different brand that makes it but if you really wanted one that would be probably a better choice to go with a little bit newer
They should come back with this phone but make it into a gaming phone. Instead of a keyboard they should put controller like buttons and mini joysticks.
