- I'm sharing my best drugstore mascara formulas that are under 10 dollars. Yes, there are fabulous formulas that will surprise you how well they perform being from drugstore. Also, I do a makeup wear test with my top two mascaras just to show you the differences in wands, application, and wear throughout the day of these top makeup products. This is a very informative experiment putting these top mascaras one to one to see what can be observed and learned. There are many great mascaras under $10 out in the beauty market.

I'm 73 yrs old, I've tried so, so many mascaras including the essence ones. That one is too dry for me. The one I'm using now is the Maybelline Colossal mascara. Yellow and purple packaging.

I was super late and took a risk using a new brand as well as a new bottle for the first time and I was blown away! I only had time for one coat and my eyelashes looked amazing! Loreal telescopic is bomb. Im hooked and so is my daughter. We just keep going back to it. Ill try other ones high end or drug store but its just so good and it doesn't transfer it gives me length is just so good.
Essence Lash Princess is my fave mascara, regardless of price point. Love it!
I normally don’t like most of the popular mascaras for some reason. My favorite is L’Oréal Telescopic in the gold tube. It makes my lashes look so long…I love it!
I use that but the waterproof one.

“Worth the hype” by Nyx is my favorite. The waterproof formula is so perfect. They look very natural, holds the curl but lengthens the lashes and does not smudge. I love it.
Thank you for doing this video. I bought the lash sensations mascara yesterday and it is the first drugstore mascara that didn’t give me raccoon eyes. I usually have to buy expensive tubing mascara. Thank you!!
My favorite is Maybelline Falsies lash lift mascara. I have short, straight lashes and this gives me lift, length and volume. Before retiring I only used high end mascara and I must say this mascara works as well as any of them. The only thing I can’t find in drugstore price that I’m happy with is foundation.
Yay! This video is right in time because I've been needing a new mascara! I love the better than sex but it's pricey. I've heard the Covergirl Exhibitionist is a great dupe but now I'm second guessing. I prefer a boar bristle wand but have heard great things about the Lash Sensational so I just might try it!

Thank you for reminding me how EXCELLENT the Lash Sensational mascara is, and especially how much I like the shape of the brush. I'm always looking for the next-best-thing in the Mascara Universe, so much so that I often forget just how good some of the old-and-true are. I ordered a new tube of Lash Sensational in "Very Black" and as soon as I swiped the first stroke up and out, it was as if I had fallen in love again. I use the waterproof version and I find it easy to remove with warm water and my facial cleansing balm or oil---no special eye makeup remover needed. It doesn't flake, smudge, or make my eyelashes feel brittle. It holds the curl, and the different lengths and thicknesses of bristles help me deposit product where I need it, and comb it out where I don't. I also love that the brush head is curved, not too long or wide. Many mascaras have skinny brush heads that smear product on my waterline, are too wide to let me get close enough to the roots, or are too long and hit my inner corner. This brush is just perfect for the size and curve of my eyes!
I am using Essence for years love it ! Trying different once but will go back to essence again!
Maybelline Sky High is another one under 10$ that is really fantastic :)

I wanted to like it because I'm all for lenghtening and curling mascaras, but unfortunately it didn't work for me because the brush is so bendy. It felt like I couldn't really push the lashes to curl them if it does make sense. I want to try it again though, I only used it a couple timed then passed it to my sister so I don't remember how my lashes looked like with it. How does it compare to the Lash Sensational?

Essence Lash Princess is my absolute favorite mascara!! I prefer it over high end any day of the week. And for $5...OMG! Best ever!
The Lash Sensational is a tubing mascara (sort of). It comes off easily with warm water. It doesn't really come out in pieces like a traditional tubing mascara, it liquifies a little bit, but comes off completely. I've noticed that many people don't know that and find it difficult to remove, so I wanted to share :)
Mayballine Falsie Lash Lift in a silver tube. I have blonde short thin straight lashes and this is one of the best I've found that lengthens thickens and even curls up a bit , doesn't smudge on my hooded eyes either. The brush is similar to the better than sex brush but not quite as big. But if you have lashes like me definitely give it a try I keep buying others but always go back to this one. Oh and it's not to wet of a formula either when you have short thin lashes it's really hard to build volume when the formula is too wet. It's just great all around.
I did use Lash Paradise a few years ago and it was good. I use Essence mascara every single day and I love it. It, for me, is the perfect mascara. I have used Maybelline mascaras in the past and they were ok. I can certainly try this mascara but I do not like curved wands.
Absolutely agree about Lash Paradise!! I am so bummed, it was my favorite mascara for drama. My favorite mascara high end or drug store is Lash Sensational, definitely! For some reason lately it is the only one that will hold the curl in my very straight lashes...
I love the princess lash but lately have been preferring the pink snd black tubed princess lash better!! For a 5$ mascara it's just crazy to me how well it works !! It makes my lashes so big!!
Try the covergirl in the green tube, the clump crusher! I have issues with getting a little smudge on the inner corner of my lower lash, and I NEVER get that with the clump crusher. It also separate amazingggggg, its like it separates every single lash. ✨
I too ❤️ Covergirl Clump Crusher (green tube). I have very sensitive eyes and have issues with every mascara I've tried, except this one. Love it!
One of my favourite! I like the Clump Crusher Extension even better. (The one I use is actually the Max Factor Clump Defy, but it's the same product. Not similar, literally the same. For whatever reason that I can't remember, Covergirl sells some of their product as Max Factor here in Europe.)
I love the Essence Lash Princess. I was using L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise, but I found it almost impossible to remove! No matter what I used to remove it, how many times I cleansed, there always seemed to be more left over. I found it so frustrating, so I moved on to Essence. I find them quite similar, but Essence is actually removable!
Love/Hate relationship w/L'Oreal Lash Paradise? Oh yeah. When that first came out I was over the moon happy with it!! Then, 2 weeks later, my tube dried up. It was dry & clumpy, almost overnight. Weird. Bought another (in fact I bought 2). Opened it, used it - LOVE!! In 2 wks, same thing. What the?? Same thing with the 3rd tube. So I bought a couple more and gave them to favorite coworkers (who all love makeup as much as I do) and they had the same experience. I thought it was just me. Nope.
But, regarding the Cover Girl mascara, do try their "clean/green" version which is in a.... light green tube! That was the only one that really worked pretty darn well for me. I just don't like those wands. The tubes are SO thick I find it difficult to twirl the wand the way I like to deposit my mascara. Great video as usual - thanks for the reviews!!

If you live somewhere with a Dollar General store, Believe beauty mascara in the gold tube (and only the gold one) is my new favorite. Hands down (for me) better than any other mascara from Mary Kay to L’Oréal to Too Face to Cover Girl. It’s $5 and 🔥
Enjoyed your info on the mascaras . When I started using mascara I used cover girl water proof. .,through my teens and 2o!s ,30!s . I found loreal waterproof used it for years . While back my eyes were bothering me bad so I decided to try a different rand called tubing waterproof. Worked well . No problem. . I was going to put some make up on and when I opened the tube of mascara the fluid was all around the opening like the wand pulled all the mascara out of the tube needless I paid almost 30.00$ first time I ever paid that much , so I will go back and try again with the ol! Faithfully... thank for your video . Will be watching for more ,,,, my age is in early 70!
i love it...what i do for a cleaner look is i put paper at the back of the lashes while i put mascara...
I just used the Lash Paradise for the first time a few months back. It has been my go to. My lashes are long and natural looking after only 1 coat.

I like the Maybelline mascara the best of the four you tried. I've been using Better Than Sex mascara and find it flakes and gums up in my lashes. I remember trying CoverGirl as one of my very first mascaras I prefer short bristles because they're easier to manage. Oh yes, I make a funny mouth when applying all makeup, especially mascara. Omg, YES to everything you said about Lash Paradise!! Same happened with the Lash Architect 4D from L’Oréal. I’m so disappointed 😔
I just tried the lash sensational mascara last week and I was shocked I really loved it and it never transferred or flaked on me what so ever I also tried the essence one and that one transferred and flaked on me and I even had the waterproof one too my favorite right now is definitely the lash sensational one and now I’m wishing I would of tried it a long time ago lol

I use the Thrive tubing mascara. Most mascaras transfer to my upper lid as I have long lashes. Thrive is the only one I’ve tried (and I’ve tried so, so many) that doesn’t. It lasts all day long - 16 hours!
I really liked the side by side comparison to help visualize how the different mascaras perform. I cannot make any of the Essence Lash Princess (or any others from the brand) work for me as they flake so badly on me.
Those are also my top 2 and I have both right now! Both I use in waterproof. 😁
It's so good, that a good mascara doesn't have to be expensive.

I have been using “New Heights” by Ulta beauty. Let not just say….. for under $5 it is incredible!! The wand is small and the bristles are silicone. It combs out the lashes so beautifully. Separates all the hairs. It’s honestly one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used. Which I found so surprising cause it’s super cheap! So yourselves a favor and try it!!

I forgot how great Lash Sensational is! I moved onto prestige brands but after this I’ll be moving back. I wanted to love Lash Paradise when it came out. It looks amazing but flakes like crazy. I thought I had a bad tube but the second one did the same. Love your videos! Can I ask what the coral lip color is from the start of your video? Gorgeous!
I have tried so many mascaras in my life and Lash Paradise is the only one that flakes and smudges on me. Also, I didn't like the overall effect. Lash Sensational is just pure perfection in a tube!
I’m 67. Started using mascara when I was maybe, 15/16. Since day one, if there are clumps, I take a safety pin (I know), straighten it a little, and use that to unclamp. Have never poked myself. 👍🏻. I’ve also mastered applying it with both hands, ambidextrous. 🤣
Audrey Hepburn used to do the same! She separeted her lashes *one by one* with a pin :)
One thing to at really stood out for me is that the maybelline side has way better lift. The essence one drooped a bit. And I love essence but now I def want to try maybelline one!

I like the look of the Maybelline on you best. I’ve tried Benefit, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, so many, and I always end up going back to Cover Girl Lashblast. Maybe I’ll try the Maybelline.
I’ve used pretty much exclusively covergirl mascara since high school, and I don’t think I’ve had issues with it personally. I tend to always buy waterproof mascara so the waterproof versions of their orange tube have never disappointed me and don’t smudge on me at least
I have tried many mascaras, I am one of the women who likes volume, seeing a lot of volume in my eyelashes. Of expensive mascaras I liked one from clinique and "better than sex" from too faced, but I don't want to spend money knowing that there are very good super cheap mascaras. Of the drugstore brand mascaras I have tried many and the one that I have definitely liked is the "essence" brand, once I tried it I did not want to buy another one because it leaves me an spectacular volume in my eyebrows and the price is the best and perfect product for me. Under $10 I use the Essence mascara but lately I found Lise Watier eye opening vegan mascara. It’s so beautiful and it is the mid range for price, $29 in Canada.
I love NARS Climax Extreme. Not under $10 (or £ in the UK) but it's the best I've ever tried...and I've tried a lot. Does the job in one coat.
Any mascara I use lately doesn't do anything for my lashes I'm 57 now an idk I've tried all kinds of mascaras an I just can't get them to be any longer!! Good video

I've been using Cover Girls Lash Blast for 40 years.
I feel obligated to mention Maybelline Lash Discovery. I use lash serum religiously, but my lashes are still so thin and fine they're overwhelmed by regular brushes. The tiny Lash Discovery brush is the only one that works. If you have wimpy lashes, give it a try! And BTW, one of the best UA-cam tips I ever got was from Ali Andreea. She said when you smudge your mascara it's best to wait for it to dry, then flick it off. I always have QTips around, so I break the cotton tip off and use the cardboard stick to flick off the dried mascara. It works like a charm and helps keep any previously applied products in place. For under-eye smudges (obviously, I smudge a lot) I like a Q-tip dipped in micellar water. I squirt some in my palm, roll the cotton tip in it and then wipe off the excess and attack the mascara. Cheers!
I love lash discovery! I have pretty long lashes but I like to darken them a bit to match my hair. I also like my eyelashes to look like eyelashes and not spider legs. Lash discovery does the trick.
I love Lash Discovery too. I have stick straight lashes and curl them with an eyelash curler before putting on waterproof mascara. If I use non waterproof they uncurl again. I want more people to know about Lash Discovery so Maybelline won't get rid of it like every other formula before that they've gotten rid of that I loved. At the very least women should like it for their bottom lashes.
I have a few ‘favorite’ mascaras, depending on what I’m going for that day… Maybelline Sky High (NOT waterproof), Sally Beauty Collab (pink box/tube), Pretty Vulgar (the white tube with birds on it), It Cosmetics Super Hero, and Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big… I have a few more that I reach for regularly, too, but can’t think of exactly what at the moment…

I seen a add for the Dyson hair dye with curler wond and a brush attachment...the curler attachment looks awesome for medium to long hair but my question does it really work...it was wraps your hair with the force of air it think...have you tried it?

After buying many mascaras, the most successful one is the Maybelline Sensational. It is the mascara that feels like you’re not wearing one so that’s for me. My lashes look naturally long and thick AND I dont get home at the end of the event to find the embarrassing smudge under my eyes. So this review is not rigged. It is the best mascara!

Essence mascara ends up under my eyes. I tried 2 and both wore that way. Boo! Lash paradise mascara was nice when it first came out but I also discovered that their formula just isn't the same! You are so right! I haven't tried the mascara on your right eye. Next!
I used Loreal for years when I was young. People use to ask me if I was wearing false lashes. Then I went on the false lash kick as I got older because my lashes were thinning. Now I just do at home curl lift because my lashes will not stay curled anymore and lash serum for growth. I tried the Loreal again and the formula was changed .I didn't like it. Found Wayne Goss and it is more expensive...but is wonderful! Would you please tell me what brow color and product you use?
Omg! Yes, the L’Oréal formula has definitely changed! Voluminous was my go to for 25 years and it hasn’t been the same in the last several years! They need to go back to the old formula!

I tried so many different types of mascaras and I always go back to useing L'Oreal lash Paradise or I combined the mascaras. In the end I always go back to using L'Oreal lash Paradise mascara and it's never smudged or changed on me but then again I have always used waterproof with all my mascara.

I bought a lash rake on Amazon to separate the lashes if necessary while the mascara is still wet and pliable enough to go between the lashes

I am a big fan of the L’Oreal Lash Paradise and I have never experienced smudging, flaking or transfer.
Was my favorite too but feel like it drys out super fast to where its not usable after like 2 weeks. I dont like it anymore. Also too mush comes out on the wand and make super glumpy.
Babe Lash Volumizing Mascara. More expensive but soooo good! And I do have an applying mascara face 😁

Lash Sensational doesn't work well on my lashes, but I really like the Essence mascara. None of the mascaras that have the plastic bristles seem to work well on my lashes.

I’ve just bought the L’Oréal paradise and love it no smudging for me. I have been using the essence one for years love how it applies but find it flakes and smudges under my eyes.
