It might simply mean that your hot tub is heating. ie if temp is at 100 and you move to 102, it starts to heat up and the light shows you that it is heating. But I'm not certain. This hot tub is at my cottage and I'm not there right now to confirm.
It looks like we have the same hot tub as you do.The problem is that our thermostat isn't going down, I have it set to 96 and it went from 98 to 99 Now it's at 100... any suggestions??
I would call the 800 number for your company. It is possible there is a dip switch on your control board that needs to be changed. But your support desk of the spa manufacturer should be able to help.
Hi, I have a Balboa VL240 controller for my Strong Spa (which I think is in the video). The manual says to hit the exact buttons that you do in the video, but my unit does not allow me to change modes - do you have any idea what that might be? Thank you!
Actually I figured it out. You have access the motherboard and flip #7 dip switch. They come with it off to stop people from switching to eco mode and thinking it’s broken. It’s a pain but the support line should be able to walk you through it.
Caleb what do you flip switch. Before you flip the switch you were not able to change or even see the modes it's in? That's whats happening with me now and I need to fix it.
@@alexparker4031 What if you hit temp and then jets? For me, that switches the Frequency of pumps. F2 will run pumps twice a day (every 12 hours), F4, F6, F8, and FC for continuous. Maybe your is set up the other way around from mine?
I wonder if the hot tub was primed properly. When filling your tub, it is important to put your hose into the filter compartment. This ensures the water is fed into pump and helps ensure air doesn't get trapped in the pipes. If you have air, this may not properly prime the pump, causing a louder noise. I would drain to just below the top jets, then fill again via the filter and see if that resolves the issue. If not, I would have someone else look at it, or call the company and ask them for advice.
Thanks John but silly question how do you turn it off!? I wanted to turn it off and drain it but it was just going through the cycle and so I just unplugged it… it just would not shut. I held the Jets button for 10 seconds and held again and then again and just cycled between low and high.
If you are going to drain, you should absolutely kill the breaker or unplug. Once the jets have turned on, if on one of the cycles it will take two hours for them to stop completely. Otherwise typically only a few minutes (and no more than 15) before the circulation jets shut down (unless trying to heat up to the desired temperature).
It is hot outside. The pump circulating the water generates heat. If your system has just finished a circulation cycle, it is possible that the heat from the pump has increased the temperature of the water. I wouldn't have thought it would increase that much, but it is possible. If the pumps have stopped circulating and you check again in a few hours, I would think you'll see temp has dropped, unless of course it is something else.
I always leave mine in F2 (circulates twice every 24 hours). I also make sure to disconnect power and then connect to ensure that the two 2 hour circulation modes take place during lower priced electricity (we are on time of use pricing). Then I typically keep in on EC (economy), as I am not that fussed if it drops a degree or two during the summer. In the winter, I use ST (standard) as I want to ensure the temp doesn't drop too much and it is ready for use whenever I want to use it.
Thank you for taking the time to make this simple video for us dummies.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you, made it supper easy!
Please can um you make a video how to set up my hot tub for summer time and for winter time?
Thanks you
Thanks for the video! Also, my Cool button light stays on…and I can’t deselect it. Any thoughts?

You were right. It was still heating and once it was at the temp I set it to (102), the light was no longer on. Thanks so much!

Hey John!! Great video. Question - how do you adjust the display from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
My display is already Fahrenheit. I didn't know Celsius was an option.
Sorry, can't help.
Doing this doesnt change anything for me and I have that same control panel. Any ideas?

Thank you Ill give them a ring
Thx
What about if you don’t have any power to the display ??
Is the breaker on? Could be a loose connection, or LED Screen is shot.
Hi - we have a strong spa, and it shuts off after 10 min trying to heat up. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I have no idea. I'm no expert!!!
Dude - same here. Won’t let me change to eco mode and it’s 110 degrees out

How do you turn temperature down?
Just hit the down arrow that says cool.
John Holmes when I hit those buttons it doesn’t tell me the mode…any thoughts on why?

John Holmes yes! That does work..it says F1
John Holmes but how do I change the mode to standard?
Traded a dozen times I guess mine doesn’t have this mode I got the cheap one
I would call the support line. I think it is a pretty standard feature
Our newly purchased hot tub Millstone colour, (May delivery) is making a loud humming sound...what do I do?

Why would my hot tub be at 105 when it's set to 99?
It is hot outside. The pump circulating the water generates heat. I wouldn't have thought it would increase that much, but it is possible. If the pumps have stopped circulating and you check again in a few hours, I would think you'll see temp has dropped, unless of course it is something else.
How do you turn it on?
Ensure it is plugged in, or that the circuit breaker is on. There is no on/off switch.
What mode do I put it in during the summer months ?

how to turn off?
You can not turn off from the touch panel you need to flip the breaker.
