Agree that screwing up the design of a $195 pan to house a $3 wooden spatula is dumb. Other reviewers point out that using the cover makes STEAM heat the handle! The Titanium Oxide (actually a coating) is said to be under license, so PERHAPS someone else will eventually use that technology on a pan without the dumb groove.
@@HBS82 Yes. The design of this has me confused as to what the designer was thinking. To your knowing, is the titanium oxide surface in anyway toxic or damaging to health?
@@lioncross1849 I don't know that titanium oxide is toxic (nor would I expect it to be in the very minute quantities that would come OFF of the pan surface). Then again, for about 30 years no one knew that the "forever" chemicals (PFAS) were or would potentially be toxic. Titanium or titanium compounds are used as the final layer of expensive stainless steel pans as well. @@ANiceGuy it says there is no coating.
I'd just go wth good stainless if I was going to use that much oil or butter. A lot cheaper too.
@@iracohen3864 definitely but my Hexclad has done an incredible job for 9 years and never fails me.
But Hexclad don’t recommend you go above medium and that sux.
@@bustingatdaseems not true at all. I use high for searing. You need to use avocado oil as a lot of people use olive oil which has a low smoking point and burns. That is the problem not the pan. The pan on medium will reach the smoking point of most oils. So oil will burn and discolor the stainless bit it can be scrubbed off if you are so type A you don’t want patina on the stainless. It is pure look and in now way affects the pan but so many complain from lack of knowledge most should use medium. I rarely cook over full medium and use low/med for my eggs. You just don’t have to blast everything.
@@UkuleleJayBBQ well the website literally says they recommend cooking at medium (I just read it)All non stick coated cookware recommends you don’t go above medium and this is to preserve the coating for longer. This has been the case forever
The spoon holder is designed for the house-trained and doting housewife and mother, making her life easier so she won’t lose the wooden spoon, which will last about a month.
@@PDXTundra well only a chef in this house. My wife is the dishwasher (she actually likes doing dishes which I can’t stand) so it’s a perfect marriage! 🤣🤣🤣

Fine Russian titanium.
Is it really? Where did you get that info? That means it’s built like a Russian Tank? 🤣
Stainless steel is harder than titanium.
Hexclad is full of bs.
Hi Michael Wang, please elaborate with your personal experiences. Would love to hear it rather than just saying something is b.s.???
