- We have been doing this for the last year or so. Charging at EV stations everywhere we go. This is the first time we’ve ever had a Karen interaction. Most people in any place they see us charging. They leave or they wait their turn. Simple. Karen got what she called for!🤟🏽🤣🤣🤣

No the lesson is there's an etiquette in charging. If it's busy you either A politely wait your turn. Or B Go find an unoccupied charger. Conversely it's generally accepted you rarely need to charge beyond 80 % it protects the battery and that last 20% takes as long as the first 60% . So value your time, whizz up to 80% then move on remember two shorter stops is usually far quicker than one longer stop. I rarely need public chargers as every morning it's fully charged. Do you get your car refilled with "gas" every night? Moreover it's super cheap filling up at home so your gas car would need to get 200 miles per gallon to be cheaper to run. Given "gas prices" in our country are on a par with the upper prices in California owning an EV makes a lot of sense. I'm into my third year of ownership and have saved around 8,000 us dollars by not running a 'gas' vehicle.
@howardbowen-RC-Pilot My question about EVs is: if you live in a state, like Florida, where you may have to evacuate ahead of a hurricane, there are many times when there is gridlock. Batteries will run down, there is no way out of the traffic, and if you could get off, there are few and far between charging stations. Until they can make these cars with far greater range, it's not practical to have only an EV in your household. Consequently, the mandates of having only EVs just will not work in some areas.

Depending on the charger, it does NOT take hours to recharge. The time depends on the driver's choice of charger.
It IS first come first served, just like any fuelling service.
There are other stations to be used if you bother to check; even the car will tell you where to go.
If I go shopping for a few hours at a mall, I will choose the right charger for my needs. It will match the time I intend to shop anyway or wait my turn/go elsewhere later or charge at home.
My costs per day to charge at a 'slow' public charger while I do something else? About $1. Cost to fill the average gas tank where I live? $100. Many chargers are FREE to use; sponsored by local businesses.
For about $200 I can drive ALL YEAR. No oil changes or transmission maintenance required either.
Even MORE; All electric cars can charge at home overnight with just a normal wall plug. This costs me maybe $0.50 PER DAY. Can you fuel up in your driveway? I can.
Give me $1 worth of power and take $1 of gasoline; Let's see who can get anywhere.
Feel free to pay for gas that is not renewable and goes up in price. It's your right. I choose to listen to my wallet.

This is going to become a common thing (fights at chargers) if we are forced to all use electric vehicles unless they do some serious investing into A LOT more chargers. Electric cars are not the answer, we need to focus more on ICE vehicle efficiency and more hybrid cars, this is much more reasonable and wont cause chaos.
