You forgot to put snow around the edges outside. Plus you could have put up some boards on the lower part of your truck to block more of the outside air. Keep more warmth inside. But a nice set up.

You need a skirt to go around the exposed sides of the truck. To seal off the underside draft and to help retain heat. You can use two small tarps to seal up the ends. It works Great !

Watching your video with my kids just get them more and more ready to do this with me. As a kid I did it with my dad now I can do this with mine… Keep making great videos ….
So, you're not an ultralite camper! I did spend a couple months at Misawa, before the air wing moved in. Really enjoyed it, got to some of the parks along the coast. Remember it being pretty cold when we got there (also just missed a very strong earthquake 7-8 (?)) and getting warm and humid by the time we left. Good memories.

Yep, you definitely need to close in all that exposed area surrounding your vehicle where it meets up with your tent. If you could put snow up against the bottom edges of the outside of your tent, it would stop the cold wind/air from coming in, too. Just a couple of ideas and suggestions, lol! BTW, the chicken looked GOOD!!! 👍🥶🧤🧣☃❄🌨
Ahh! I was going to suggest you get a skirt for the side of your vehicle so the wind doesn’t blow through & freeze you. But then you set you the stretcher tent. Good idea my friend. Your chicken looked so tasty too! Too hot to eat, too good to wait 😋

A simple 'quality of life' hack for you...get a simple bathroom floor mat to place on the ground / snow in front of your cot. Your un-booted feet will thank you when you need to get up and there's minimal light to see where you're placing them. 😁
