Made me remember what Shane Crawford done for charity, breast cancer. What an absolute legend he is.
Too right mate, legend
I don't know how Crawf didn't get Australian of the year not only after his run/walk but, also him riding his bike from Melbourne to Perth. Crawf, you deserve that honour mate.
Because he loves himself to death
fuck up you useless flog, you do that and raise that much money if you are such a hero mate
Wrong colour to get Australian of the year.
Israel out of Palestine the only dickhead is you muppet
sliat1981 flog
I thought that was nice that Jim Stynes gave him a hug, & Sam Newman said how proud he was of him.
And that it was Stynes as the FIRST person to congratulate him while walking in the door...awesome. Brings a tear every time I see it.
Garry on the stretcher is timeless!
Play it again Sam! 👍
Garry on a stretcher is Epic. Easily number 1. I laughed too much.
not as funny as when he fucked his best mate, and fellow panelist's wife and got kicked off the show
+Mox_au His mates EX wife...and he never got sacked, he quit...
When it showed Garry on the blimp I blew beer out my nose. Absolutely classic.
Garry the grass cutter
Can tell he was totally blindsided when they first showed it especially after he talked about trying to run off. Was speechless, and Sam went straight with it :P
How could sam or anyone be ashamed of crying . I did . Well done Crawf . Definitely no.1 in best of
I remember watching the show back in 95 when EJ died and the came back from the break for the last segment. Doug lost a father figure in EJ and it showed at the end. I still get goose bumps from the footage at the VIC v SA game and the lap of honour around the G.
1971RobM they were close but he wasn’t a father figure. That’s a big disrespect to his real father
sliat1981 Fuck up Silat you flog. Teddy was a massive father figure for Dougie.
Shane Crawford is an absolute legend
Garry on a stretcher suit is gold. Shane Crawford seems a pretty decent human being.
i remember, the hairy man from china, Yu Zhenhuan, singing "can you feel the love tonight" to Garry Lyon, on one of the grand final footy shows if i recall correctly. It made Garry cry and it was quite amazing. i cant find it anywhere on the internet unfortunately. that was one of the top 5 moments for me.
Shane vs Sam, brilliant antagonistic chemistry, hard to find
The great EJ Whitten. The Australia we loved and lost.
Great memories from a great Football Show.
I kinda miss it now.
The video of Garry on the stretcher, legendary!! Takes me back!
ahhh pre PC days
Take me back how good was it back in the day!
.
garry on the stretcher is the greatest moment in the history of the footy show its 1st then daylight
Aa
Wow, it brings tears to my eyes to hear Sam Newman crack like that at 9:00.
crawf bloody hero mate have soo much respect for you mate heart of gold!
Agreed. A bloody Champion effort
Everybody loves Crawford. Although I hated his team I absolutely loved watching him play.
miss ya EJ, your a legend to the afl; you truly deserve the name Mr Football
:'( :'( :'(
R.I.P To TheFootyShow 😂
I miss this show 😢
@@davidmoutien619 A 100% and why did something so good leave our screens ohh thats right we produced a generation of snowflakes that generations down the line will look as these as the ones who destroyed what it meant to be Australian
Shane Crawford is an absolute legend of the AFL!!
Yep crawf needs a medal to be made Aussie of the year. Good onya crawf your a legend
Crawf is an absolute champion
what a great game & an great bunch of guys... Australia we can be proud... AFL is possibly the greatest ball game ever. only people who say it isn't is people that have never played it... once played... never forgotten... that's AFL.
r.i.p. Teddy & all the legends of the years... too many to name but you'll always be remembered through the game we all love.
ps. i grew up in Geelong in the days of VFL... thankfully it's now a national game. AFL is hard to beat.
Rip the footy show. I was raised watching this.
Sam to hang his AFL Footy Show boots up in 2018. Well done sir.
Newman can give it but don't like to take it
Well done? Was more like about f*cken time
Show was ruined once a killjoy chic joined the panel, happens everytime
What crawf did still makes ya shed tear
18th march 2020
God i miss this show
Miss this show!
HAHAH im in tears, i love these guys
The show was never the same once Lyon & Brayshaw left
Never missed Thursday night Live The footy show a 6 pack of beers and a good laugh. For all the cheap shots from people over the years about the show they raised money for different appeals and charities and gave away many Nissan Navara utes ...I miss the boys and the main Man Sam...The show would not work in 2022 because of political correctness unfortunately....But as I have always said..That's why TVs have On /Off buttons... Thanks Boys for great memories.
6:26 knowing what we know now about how Bert Newton had to have his leg amputated for health reasons make these scenes seem like foreshadowing. first Sam comes out with his leg completely missing, and then Bert comes out crying about his leg. maybe its just weird synchronicity or something, or maybe its life imitating art
Great show!
For all I sometimes got a bit tired of Crawf’s silly antics, BOY, did that opinion of him quickly disappear when he took on the challenges of Running/walking to Adelaide, let alone riding from Melbourne to Perth, I thought OMG, extraordinary! Nearly as heroic as those he’s doing these feats in aid of. 👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👍👏
How can you miss Sam shaving Jason Dunstill's head? That was classic.
Dizzy Dee other way round pal
I think that was the Chief doing the shaving...
The deflated M&M mascot gets me every single time....I have tears rolling down my cheeks watching it!
Actually Jason shaved Sam's hair back in 1997 😂😂😂😂😂
What a shame. Look what we have now a footy show that no one watchers. Those were the good days.
so proud of crawf
Loved this show😂❤
Just caught this video....the stretcher incident was hilarious Garry you legend
Garry Lyon never gets old
Stretchervision never gets old 👍👍👍👍👍
Bring this show back
I don’t know how long the footy show has been going all that I now a long time, but I remember every Thursday day night and explicitly the end of year one me and my family would be laughing our heads off for how funny it but after Sam was fired from we stop watching it but I wish the show never got axed. I would do any thing to bring back the good old day.
@rick mack, tnx mate!
I have never understood why Gary Lyon has had such a major media career
Cheers mate.
A sport for men and a show for men, women out there if your listening you have single handedly destroyed our beautiful working class game and shows we called our own can't wait for the next 20 years, god help us
Absolutely spot on, they seem to ruin everything they infiltrate. 🤬
Crawf - Legend
The Cure - Pictures of you
With the Schwarz incident it seemed like Brendan Gale was more upset than Schwarz.
This is the guy that should have been Australian of the Year.
The stretcher is still funny even after all these years
I miss Australia… where have you gone?😞
Great
Not actually trying to be funny but Bert Newton was one of the celebrity guests on the stretcher like Garry after Sam came out with the mangled leg, before he passed away Bert had one of his legs amputated due to disease.
NO SAMMY NO SHOW, LOVE YA SAMMY NEWMAN
Joe GI love you to son
"a present from the pies" - oh, the irony
what for showing thiss!haha to good
After crying over EJ seeing Garry on the stretcher killed me 😂😂😂😂
we will alwaysremember old E.J Whitten
cant believe the stretcher gag is nearly 10 years old! feels a lot younger than that
Great Moment when the Ox 🐂 slammed Sam, and the moment we found out about EJ was one of the saddest moments in sporting history I had the pleasure of crossing the bridge that honours the great man in December 2019
Garry of the strecher was the last great bit they did. Funny as hell.
I don't even like AFL but Fk I miss the Footy Show from both AFL and NRL
Found the NRL one dull , a different kind of humour, might be the Sydney influence.
The AFL version was far more laid back, and the humour was way more, well .. normal.
@@TheFykle Depends what era mate, the footy show (NRL SYDNEY) was on a decline in the last 5 years or so. I have to admit to a degree so was the AFL footy show... political corectness has F'd everything!
what's the tiltle of the song played when shane crawford was running from Adelaide to Melbourne? tnx a lot.
I miss the footy show
Well done Crawf.
When the Footy Show was great.
It always was just didn't subtitle it for the not needed
Nathan' Brown was to much in shock to cry, until he got home.
We are Aussies
No mercy.
No snowflakes.
Anything for a giggle.
Go Shane Crawford!
Never again to be repeated Footy Show it was...
Gary Lyon bit was epic…
Anyone got the footage of when Crazy John fell over and broke his arm? lol i need that footage
There should be a show america about nfl that has a similar format to the afl footy show called primetime football with jimmy fallon as host peyton manning as co host and kevin hart as comedian behind the bar
RIP Teddy Witten.
The mocking of Gary had to be done up for gigs but I have my own top five. Actually top ten.
*10.* The week after the pie in the face where Sam wrote half the response compilation.
*9.* Sam's walk on with the gay couple from The Block, how did this get on TV?
*8.* One letter on Sam's mailbag is from a female viewer wanting him, and he reads out, "If you are ever in Adelaide..." that was it, deal breaker.
*7.* Sam doing blackface on Nicky Winmar, and his comeback a year later.
*6.* This was on Tasmania television where during a dismal Pies season you have the promo and it looked like this.
Still the one Win
9
And this flashed up on one.
Collingwood
Still the one Win
9 losses
*5.* And on a Magpies and Tasmania note The Examiner TV guide had this on Grand Final day.
2:00 Collingwood Magpies AFL 1999 Premiers
6:00 Movie: Mission: Impossible
*4.* The first Street Talk that set the stage where Sam tries to talk to one person and, "The people you run into when you haven't got a gun."
*3.* The revelation of the M&M Light Blues. My father, a die hard Carlton fan, saw it as sacrilege.
*2.* Dermie invading Trevor Marmalade's house the week after he came onto the show drunk. Same episode when Sam dressed up as and mocked Tony Libratorie.
*1.* Jack Dyer and his story on when he thought he killed another player.
Gary on the blimp 🙌🤣
haha i loved seeing young lloyd & richo at the panel :P
LOL Gary.
R.I.P EJ Whiten
They showed Gary on the Stretcher again in 2015
2019?
Bloody funny.
FK i miss this show
i hardly think the death of someone should be a favourite moment
you wouldnt normally call news that someone has died a "best" moment.
Yeah there was. David Schwarz got the pie in the face because his former club, Melbourne, was performing VERY poorly, but the guy who gave him the pie ('Sam' Newman) went just that bit too far - basically, Newman was calling Melbourne clowns. That shove that he got from 'Ox' Schwarz was not a staged joked either. That made the news the next day.
What's that song
It's not just a death
still piss myself with the gary on the strecther clip
isn't entitled "funniest". It's entitled "best".
The death of The Footy Show started as soon as the Garry & Billy love triangle feud began and Garry left the show. All downhill since that moment and look at the show now, an abomination. So sad. I loved The Footy Show.
What about the time when dunstall shaved sams hair , that was a classic
haha the fucking ox cracking it at sam
5:22 I think that would be a good drinking game. Except make it for all the times it gets shown
Crawf, my hero...
hey!
Am I the only one here who thinks if Kerry Packer were still alive & owner of #9, this show could still be going? HE wasn't the "idiot son" his father Sir Frank called him. James is.
