@myclocks0071 I think it's early 1950s. I have the FFR catalogue for 1953-54 and there are clocks similar (but not identical) to this, with the "4-Airs" movement. Coincidentally I have seen a Westminster chime clock with a more normal movement by another manufacturer, in an identical case, so it is possible that these 4-Airs movement were sold to case makers in the UK and elsewhere.
The hammer The material of the hammer head is too hard, it has to be softened, the hardness results in the woody sound. KTG10's suggestion is also good
I know da first iz westminister, buti think da second mabie canterbury, one mabie ava marie, but I'm nat certain I'm think I recognize da 4th but I'm nat sure
@@TommyWylie aww I've never heard of on waves of blue and old steeple.wonder why those two songs are Nat very commonly used. I'm grateful to haft heard them ,I'm glade u knew the songs .
Wow!!!!!! Enchanting!!! When I envision a wonderful childhood I think of the sound coming from this clock in a grandparents' home. Lucky you!
While the clock isn't much to look at, the chimes are extraordinarily beautiful. I can't believe you sold it.
the chime rod that sounds second in ave maria is so dull. Bend the hammer up more! It will sound way better!
I love the Ave Maria chime this clock played.
yes yes I know it has Westminster chime but the rest 3 chimes are er different. it has Ave Maria in it.

Sounds Amazing
These are beautiful chimes. Westminster gets old after a while. Where did you get this clock? I'd like to find one for my collection.

Wow that reminds me olden times
That's not ugly. It's pretty.
@Clockmaniac5445 If you play the video right to the end, the front is shown at 3:25.

Old Steeple is my favorite
Do you know if any of these were sold in the US? I want to get one myself.

i think westminster chime looks good on it but too bad it does not have Whittington and st micheals or cantebury or nostalgia chimes.

@TommyWylie: Ok.
How rare are these clocks?
Well I sold mine a year or more ago and I haven't seen another since.
Well can you let me know if you see another one because I do want one of these.
I missed one on ebay last month, £175
I’m sorry to hear that.
The chime player resembles a cactus!
*Jealous* Steve has one of these and I've always liked it, even if the case is pretty tacky.

No Canterbury on this clock... the chimes are Westminster, On Waves Of Blue, Ave Maria, and Old Steeple.
