They used to say , 'at the time of our ancestors in Falam---' while narrating our ancestral stories. Thank God, there's not so much difference in our dialect and I truly take pride being born as Chin/Kuki by which we're popularly known 🙏🙏🙏

Previously, the present day Mizos were known as Lushai Kuki. But they changed the name into Mizo in the 1950s since they believed Kuki is not an indigenous name but given by others. We the Chin Kuki Mizo , we share the same culture and tradition, with similar languages although not completely similar. But if you learn Kuki dialects, you will be able to understand somehow of Chin and mizo too and vice versa

@@lsticker1144, yes! The Lai people were/are known by many names. Eg: The Lusei/Mizo call them Pawi. The Bawm, Pang, Tlanglau etc in Chittagong, Bangladesh are also the Lai people. They migrated to their present settlement from Falam and its nearby areas in about 1750-1770 AD.

It is rather Tlaisun people.
The tribe called themselves Taisun. Prior to British invasion the Burmans (from Kalay-Kabaw valley) also called them Tashons which is the closet pronunciation to the name of the tribe Taisun. The British also called them Tashons.

It is rather Tlaisun people.
They themselves called as Taisun. Not Tlaisun.
The tribe called themselves Taisun. Prior to British invasion the Burmans (from Kalay-Kabaw valley) also called them Tashons which is the closet pronunciation to the name of the tribe Taisun. The British also called them Tashons.
I know many people who identify themselves as Tlaisun in Chin state.
