- Sinead O'Connor performs "Lay Your Head Down" with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, with composer Brian Byrne conducting from the piano and Joanne Quigley the solo violinist. Filmed at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on 31 December 2011 as part of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra's New Year's Eve concert. Video by Colm Flynn.

She had so much soul that’s why she was such a great poetry teacher she taught me poetry. I’m one of her youngest fans, so losing her really sucked, but she, Still teaches me poetry from heaven above she’ll always be my teacher

exactly,this is a woman who struggles with the hand she has been given,but always always gives back ,i think she is an incredible advocate for people who have lost hope,be they teens or the rest of us,she is a force and i can say personally she got me through the MOST difficult parts of my life, so thank you Sinead O Connor xxx
She struggles from problems she created herself. She is a Great talent, but self destruction is her mission. She has a tattoo of Christ on her, but she don’t believe, now she is a wannabe Muslim. Such a waste, to listen to her sing this so beautifully.

Dear me!!! This is totally captivating. The absolute essence of Sinaed O'Connor.Her heart and soul is all-out there. To my deep regret, I never truly appreciated her amazing gifted talent, her golden,pure voice and ability to interpret songs and in her unique way. It's An emotional watch , even the orchestra members are appreciative and can't help appaudlng. It's a tour De force.

This song has helped me sleep countless times since Sinead has been gone on the days when I just can’t sleep and my heart misses Sinead too much this song makes me smile in this song helps me fall asleep. She sings so softly and it’s like she sings me off to sleep like a lullaby Thank you for being the best role model in my life my poetry teacher and I’m so glad I’ll always have your music and you’ll always be there helping me write every poem. Aw I have a huge lump in my heart and tears in my eyes listening to this amazing lady mother daughter grandmother sister and friend she was so special and not for this world my heart breaks but I’m happy she is living in eternal love forever with her son. Wasn't a massive fan.Until now at her passing.Didnt truly listen to her rich canon of work until now.Didnt take the time I guess. A truly remarkable talent.Her interpretive, evocative voice sends shivers down your spine. Ireland's Kate Bush maybe? Unfair to compare the two. But both,sublime,brilliant talents. Sinaed the full Irish, Kate had an Irish mother. Few,if any could sing this song and do it justice. Sinaeds interpretation is perfect.Her golden rich voice to the fore. Courageous and a complete original. A black dark cloud hangs over Ireland this late July morning. But, what an amazing legacy she has left.

@@Michaelbos You seemed determined to frame Sinead’s “great talent” in a very negative light almost as if the music just masks the reality of a person who is ultimately doomed. Many an aritist has come from a troubled background which may have served as motivation to reach the great heights born out of innate talent combined with hard work but which may in their own mind or of others may hang over them like a cloud such can be the challenges intrinsic to the human condition that can confront people at the outset and perhaps made more difficult by their own choices almost like a relex response. Maybe a less sanctimonious approach would serve you better, appreciate what pleasure people can bring even in the face of tough obstacles and perhaps consider what degree of positivity you bring to the situation rather than a recourse to cynicism or grudging respect.
