I literally just finished reading Alan Parkers excellent book "No one is innocent" about Sid's life before, during and after his time with the Pistols. This documentary was also brilliant.

Myself and a friend met Alan Parker and Mick at Spice of Life on Cambridge Circus back in, must have been when the pistols toured, in 2008 or 2009. Had a few beers, great chats. He told us to go and buy his new book from a book shop about 200 metres away, towards Denmark Street. It was called "No one is innocent". Bought it back to the Spice and he and mick (as his researcher) both signed it. Kept in touch for a while and we met every now and then at the Spice, but somehow, as always with these things, time moves on and I have not seen Alan for many years now. I do ask each time I go there, but always miss him. Anyway, me and my mate still have those signed copies and will treasure them.

Me either. If you look at the evidence it's all over the place. He was out of it on tuniols. They used that to knock people out for surgery with those and several witnesses said he was out of it. And the fact the murder weapon was wiped clean of prints and blood is extremely telling. The money Sid made from gigs went missing also. Sid was alot of things but I have never believed being a murderer was one of them.

I believe Sid was a TRUE rock star, and a natural, and that its so unfortunate that he didn't live longer. However at 5;15 the roadie, or who ever, credits Sid for the spike hairstyle of punk. That's not correct. It was Richard Hell, from the East coast scene in America, Which started the first version of the punk style spike hairdo. As for the origins of punk music, that credit would belong to the Ramones, That's clearly documented (1974). The New York Dolls also were a huge inspiration to the punk scene sound, attitude and look. But there's no question that by 1977 the Sex Pistols lit that whole scene on fire, and Sid was the star.
