What a superb demo! Nicely tuned drums and well recorded audio. And best of all, no talking. Thank you! These are some beautiful snares. Got my eye on the 14x6.5 aluminium snare :)
Well, gotta throw my 2 cents in here: I own the 6 1/2 X 14 model and I LOVE IT. It's a very versatile snare. One of favorites. Wide tuning range, especially with using various heads. Very well-crafted and superb quality all around.

Also I have to add that I really like aluminum shell snares. I've some vintage Slingerland, Gretsch and a Ludwig Acrolite snares, all 5 X 14, and they all sound amazing. Experiment with different heads and you'll see how warm and "wood-like" they can sound.
i don't know for you but the pop that the aluminum one does when you hit it south west off center rimshot is purely orgasmic. kinda remind me of a good maple shell pop but with a metallic resonance. i love it. i never got that sound with a Ludwig acrolite LM404. that Pearl pop is cutting very well studio or live. i've always had a preference for shorter shells anyway.

Great demo! This is very helpful! I'm having a tough time deciding between these two, but I think the 5" might juuust be the winner.
