You can switch between keyboard and pad mode using Shift+Octave Up. Maybe that is what you were looking for? Also, Shift+Octave Down enables fixed velocity mode, which is great for playing sounds without worrying about your fine motor skills.

The transport controls will not work with Studio One. The keyboard will still function for midi though, and perhaps you'll be able to map the knobs to Serum, it will not be automatic though.

@@QueenslandSolar This is because there is no Host Integration for FL Studio from Komplete Kontrol. FL Studio uses MCU (Mackie Control Universal) which the newest series of keyboards from Native does not support. Word from Native says that it's in development to support this but when it will come is not confirmed.
Hi Thanks for your helpful reviews! After many months of M32 usage, I have to complain about the touch strips. In my opinion, they are very poor in quality. Firstly, I often unintentionally touch them with my left hand, especially the ModWheel, which frequently controls the dynamics of sample libraries. I don't know why, but the touch sometimes causes a reset of the strip, resulting in the overall volume (dynamic) being reset. I only realize this after minutes of wondering why the library is suddenly silent. So, in my opinion, the major flaw of this keyboard is the presence of these useless touch strips and also unnecessary keys. As an orchestral music composer, I would instead appreciate two real hardware sliders on the left of the keyboard as a replacement for the touch strips, along with fewer useless buttons and rotary knobs. That's just my opinion. The M32 with sliders would be a great keyboard. Another minor issue is the position of the USB connector: in that position, the keyboard takes up a lot of space on a small desktop. It's a pity. Nothing personal, but for me, Native Instruments fails in both hardware devices and sample libraries. Giorgio
In the case where it doesn't select the pattern length after creating it, push the encoder in again and this will then select the pattern and allow you to change the length. Hope this helps!
"The keys are really nicely positioned together." That's a bonus on a controller keyboard. That's something that you don't always find. +1 for the M32. Edit: /s
Scale and chord mode are not working. The velocity is very quiet so the natural playing is not possible. I use Maschine MK2 and the NI Maschine Software. Please help!
Ciaoooo and thank you for the great review! I've a couple of questions. The 2 strips can only used to change octaves or can they be used to modulate and/or apply effects on the notes we are playing? And can I assign a sound (recorded by me) to each key? For example if I wish to split a song chorus into pieces, could I assign each piece to each key? For example in the chorus "No rhyme, no reason, No time, no season, No rhyme, no reason, This time, you're leavin'" I wish to assign "No rhyme, no reason" to one key, "No time, no season" to another key and so on... and play each part that I wish only pressing the right key. And could I also slow down or speed up the tempo of the chorus? Thank you heaps!
Why nobody is talking about that you can't change the CC messages? They are fixed as I read on the forums. I'm a begginer and I plan on buying a MIDI and I was pretty sure I wanted to get this(even tho it doesn't have pads), but since I heard about the CC modification thing I'm not so sure 'bout it. I mean at start all the features that come with M32 will be really handy, but what afterwards. Or if I find some DAW that isn' t supported by NKS etc. I really like this product, but at the same time I'm disappointed. You can share your opinion about this (will be appreciated).
Yup. Almost any of the (sponsored?) reviews and tutorials skip this part. Because it means that the unit is anything but "integrated" with say Ableton Live. For instance, to my knowledge there is no way to make the encoders automatically blue hand control Live's devices like almost every other keyboard out there is able to do (via Live Remote Scripts that won't work with the M32 and the A-series due to, amongst other things the CC issue). The irony is, i don't even own the keyboard but just a bit of reading on forums etc. will give you this crucial information that tutorials such as this skip over. Also they don't mention that on PC it only works with Windows 10. Oh well, i've come to terms with it in the sense that i look at the hardware more like a dedicated controller for NI software only and to use different controllers for DAW control.
I mean the thing is it works for now with few good DAW(abelton, logic etc.), but it's all because its new. What after some time when it gets cut off the support by NI? You're just gonna keep it there? And btw, there was one user on the forums that sold his S25 for M32 and afterwards learned that the CC contiguration is fixed. If I can say his words it goes somerhing like this "I just sold my perfectly good working midi for a toy."

We're happy to hear you enjoyed the video, thanks for your comment! It's a great midi keyboard, you're gonna love using it. The camera overhead is a Nikon D3300 and it is mounted to a metal frame in the ceiling - there are ceiling tiles in this room that sit on this frame.
Question! I really want to learn the piano to do song covers and stuff but I also like what MiDi Keyboards do. Now I know nothing about playing a piano, do you guys think I should get a piano or a MiDi keyboard? Can't I do the same stuff on a piano but on a MiDi? Need Help Thank You!
It all depends on what sort of thing you'll be playing most and what sounds you want. Remember, a midi keyboard doesn't make any sound so you'll need to ensure you have a computer with some kind of synth or virtual instrument available to play. MIDI Keyboards feel quite a bit different from a weighted piano key, but if you get a good one they are still nice to play. When you say piano, do you mean an electric keyboard or a proper piano?
To get the most out of the Mikro in Pro Tools you would want to be using Native's Maschine DAW (seen in the video) within Pro Tools as a plugin. This comes included with the Mikro. That way you can quickly create ideas within Maschine and drag them into Pro Tools at the click of a button.
It can, however we do not recommend it as transport controls (such as play, record, pause) on the it do not work in FL Studio, and recording midi with the arp and scale modes is also ineffective. It's a shame the support is not there for FL but other DAWs work great with the M32.

Question for you outside of the Komplete review,, more about the brilliant filming of the video... what camera are you using overhead and how is it mounted? Also, have to say enjoyed the funny edits, especially the giant hands lol Bless up!
Midi possible 88keys if u want piano feel
@10;11how did you set the midi to be a drum kit after loading the absynth kit so that the drum will be set across the keyboard?
Integration Pro Tools?? I'm thinking of buying this but does it work well with PT?
To get the most out of the Mikro in Pro Tools you would want to be using Native's Maschine DAW (seen in the video) within Pro Tools as a plugin. This comes included with the Mikro. That way you can quickly create ideas within Maschine and drag them into Pro Tools at the click of a button.
@@GetintheMix so I can arrange everything in maschine, using other samples as well?

Yes, the two work with each other well, it's a good combo!
Can I use this and my MK3 at the same time?
Yes!
@@GetintheMix very cool! Thanks. How do I do that??
@@ricogonzales2989 There's no trick to it, just have them both connected and they'll both be operating :)
@@GetintheMix awesome! Thanks man!
rly nice thanks
Can this keyboard be used with fl studio
It can, however we do not recommend it as transport controls (such as play, record, pause) on the it do not work in FL Studio, and recording midi with the arp and scale modes is also ineffective. It's a shame the support is not there for FL but other DAWs work great with the M32.
Excellent tutorial! Step by step no leap in the dark top top well done
