      My computer will only tell me speed, so "sweet spot" to me means in pain.

    I love how sweet spot covers the top of my tempo and the bottom of my LT so I can you the sweet spot for just about any workout I do.

    Can you compare aerodynamics and comfort of cervelo P5x vs. Diamondback Andean or other top triathlon bikes?

    Great instructional video. I really enjoy many of your videos but I also miss a few more scientific approaches to the training video, especially data driven videos that actually shows improvement (as promised in this video). I know that makes the video-recording and planning a bit more time consuming but there are sooooo many instructional training videos and only few of them actually uses data to prove their point. So please - if you can find the time - include som data in your video. Best wishes!

    How much time do you allow between sweet spot sessions?? A week? 2 weeks?

    • @gtn
      @gtn  6 років тому

      A weeks break between sweet spot sessions is a good starting place and you can then see how your body feels.

    Is there an easy-ish way to work out our FTP or Sweetspot using RPE or HRM without having a power meter?

    • @JeuneCyclisteDynamique
      @JeuneCyclisteDynamique 4 роки тому

      Test your FTHR (30 minutes all-out, av. HR for last 20' is FTHR). FTP is intensity at FTHR. SS around FTHR minus 5-10 beats.
      With RPE, it is a bit harder to differentiate FTP from SS intensity: but say that FTP keeps your mouth open and your breathing rate quite high while not maximal, SS elicits less breathing but the leg burning sensation is quite similar after 10 minutes or so.

    Can this training be done on rollers that have no resistance?

    • @newttella1043
      @newttella1043 2 роки тому

      Yes. If you can measure any of one (or any combination) of power, heart rate, or cadence and shift your gears to fine tune resistance you can do sweet spot training on simple rollers. This is how we did it in the 1990s and into the 2000s. That "medium hard" pace where you can talk but not talk too long is sweet spot and quite frankly it feels more natural to do long sweet spot training on the rollers as you need to keep your speed to keep balanced.

    I just got a used tri bike for a spectacular price, and it's the same size as my road bike. I slammed the stem as far as it would go only to find that I need to go 3-4cm lower to be a position I would like. Any ideas?

    If I can hit 3x30’ at sweet spot, I know I’m 70.3 race ready!

    I wonder why triathlon bike don't put the brakes on the aerobar and just delete that "wing". Mechanical groupsets could also put the STI shifters on the aero bars. Shouldn't that be more aero?

      Not very Aero when you crash because you can’t corner
