2:40 : "Generally you don't want your correction to be over 20, or else it gets kinda finnicky and not that great" Me who's had correction at 40 for years now: 👁👄👁
I may not be rich and can't afford a drawing tablet, but I have a Kindle, stylus and a dream. I have used this for about a year now and this improved my experience. Thank you.
I've been blindly stumbling through medibang pro for the last two months, and every single moment of this tutorial easily corrected a problem I'd been having with the software, from not realizing that my correction being up at 40 was the reason the tablet was lagging behind to the tolerance meter on the fill tool, to like. Basically everything. Thank you thank you thank you
Best medibang tutorial I've seen, it has been incredibly helpful for me since I struggle to get used to digital drawing! I've yet to get the clipping layers to work entirely as I would've liked though. I can make it so that i cant color outside the outer lines, but it can still color over things inside these lines. If I'm drawing a head for example, the coloring stops at the chin, but not at the mouth or eyes. What am I doing wrong or how could I solve this? Thanks!
Thanks -- we're so glad you found this tutorial helpful! Clipping layers all depend on what's on the initial layer; if all your segments are on the same layer, then it doesn't matter if they're spaced out or anything, where you've drawn is where the clipping mask will believe it's ok for you to draw on. Layer order is also a factor. You can't clip a clipping layer, so every clipping layer you've made past the first one will still be clipped to your initial layer . Say you've clipped layer B to layer A; if you try to clip layer C onto layer B, it won't work because B already has a clipping mask attached, so instead layer C will also clip to layer A.
I've been using medibang for years, and only now I learned about the tolerance trick with paint All this time I was filling the white spots manually xD
For everyone: I have been using medibang for 5 months. I used to have the correction at 30, then with practice, i moved it down to 20. Now it stays at 12. It gets better with practice!
For the Lasso select tool you dont have to do it all in one go! You can hold Shift while using it to add more to your selection, or hold control to take away from it.
What I'm wondering about is why my "soft" eraser isn't soft at all, when I use it the outer is solid when it's supposed to erase somewhat like an airbrush.
Helpful tip - if you're using the "soft" eraser provided, you have to use it on the brush tool!! Switching to the eraser on the sidebar is (for some reason) its own eraser, so you have to click on brush tool and *then* click on the soft eraser like if you were using a different brush, and it will register as the soft brush.
I had been using Medibang for years and never knew half of this stuff. My jaw dropped at when you explained the Gradient Tool Bc i never understood what it was. Thank You So Much For The Tutorial!
