For anyone who doesn't understand what I meant mechanics fix broken mechanical problems daily and use tools to make a living using your tools to make a living is what makes you part of this trade.
Yes sir! Worked on aircraft for 30-years. Best job in the world, just like any physical labor, it beats up your body. Very, very satisfying. Hang in there my friend, enjoy the video's.
Great video, I used it today the Astro nano 14mm socket with my serpentine tool to swap the alternator belt on a 2000 Honda Accord 3.0L v6. Great ratcheting wrench to use with nano sockets too.
Doesn't really matter what you're using to turn them. They're so shallow, that they absolutely will come in handy at some point. Especially with how tight engine bays & chassis are getting now.
Ive got this set on order. As a diy/shade tree mechanic im excited to have these. I definitely could have used them in the past. Honda pilot/ mini van timing belts come to mind off hand. Those 14mm motor mount bolts are a pain.
all the guys at my shop bought a set of mountain wrenches from our snap on dealer so we could get warranties, when we lose one we just buy a replacement from amazon but still have warranty lol. honestly all of us beat the hell out of mountain wrenches, especially on brakes and suspension bolts. works great and we have infinite replacements
I have the icon double box flex ones that are the same as the matco. I ordered the 21/22 and 24/25 from the matco guy for a ridiculous $215 but it's been 6 weeks and no sign of them. I'd really like that 21/22 for stuff I work on. Maybe it will show up someday.
Missed you buddy! Hope everything is good. Loving the haul. I finally got my Mac guy it really happened. Now I need to get my gearwrench tab zeroed so I can start buying all Mac lol well glad to see you back
Only a shady tree guy but I bought a 12mm socket similar to the Nano for one job that drives me nuts. Fan bolts on my 1991 Land Cruiser. The fan has to come off to do various jobs. Now I can get a ratchet spanner/socket in where nothing else would fit. I am still going to buy the reversible Mountain wrenches. I am paranoid about one day getting a ratchet wrench stuck!!
Cp I think the length is a huge deal on those wrenchs bro. That’s part of what makes the mountain ones great. I’m with you on looking for those style wrench’s in more quality I think cornwell makes a version of the mountain wrenchs
Snap on makes a set of long ones kinda like the mountains. The differences are no off set side and no reversible but long ratcheting box with 12 point instead of spline. Way better quality with 4x the price to go with it. And you can use the nano sockets with them if you need the off set.
I have the nano love them I also have the matco witch look like your NAPA ones my goto is Astro because of the square head for the wrench especially for rear backing plates on F250,F350.
I wish you had my SNAP-ON double Flexhead Ratcheting Wrench Set when you just showed that comparison because the SNAP-ON Heads are quite thin inn profile especially with the Astro 17mm it appeared to seem just as slim as the Mountain Offset
I guess I don't see the advantage of putting the socket in the wrench. Wouldn't a wrench work in a tighter area without the added length of the socket?
I must be a noob. Lol I can see its going to pinch my ratchet leave to grab a reversible forget what I left for go back and pitch the ratchet. To be fair its usually with my electric ratchet.
I know it is made in Taiwan but I have come to really like the Carlyle stuff. I have a few of their ratchets, a set of the wrenches, some screwdrivers, one of their digital torque wrenches, and a few sets of their chrome sockets and a set of their ratcheting flex head (six point) wrenches. Superior quality to a lot or even most of the other non tool truck stuff. And I guess I need training LOL. I pinned a nonreversible ratchet wrench between the rocker box cover and the back bone on a HD. Once. Repeat once.
What's up CP ...I do ..I work in dairy...I'm in the shop .aka (shop bitch) I do welding tig, stick, mig. A little fab, electrical and anything else im asked to do.
I'm doing work form my home as well as the shop I moved home to make videos without distractions so the guys could work in the shop it was awesome thing for me.

I wish Astro still made that double sided ratcheting wrench
I really like the Astro nano sockets! when you need them, you need them. Thanks for showing us the wrenches CP!

I'd like to see a 1/4 nano set. I would buy that
It would be nice if they would go up to a 1 inch on the 3/8 nano like the metric that go up to 24

Most likely, if you go to warranty our unit, they will give you the runaround
Cp again with the perfect timing. I just broke the 17 side of my ez red and been wanting a 22.

They do make an extended set 6-24mm no skips: 78319
Very interesting 🧐 astro just dropped some new ratchets as well 🤘🏽

That's a great point the mountains are just not that strong that's my issue

U ain't gonna break the mountains lol no worries I was busting 18mm suspension bolts with one today and it's fine, besides, lifetime warranty.
Nice like the comparisons FEED the addiction 🛠👍🏻👌toolz rule Whoooo!!!

That would have definitely been awesome especially if they had a retaining ring for those sockets
@@CPthetooladdict Yeah You already know
CP I’ll buy those Mountains from you for the right price. Keep up the good work
Cool sockets great video chad 👍🇨🇦

For recessed bolts
You can get the Astro Tools 18" handle with the 17mm ratcheting head...if the short one doesn't do it for you...
You been sleeping fella?

So happy this popped up lol. Amazon is better than the tool truck as far as time to get what you want.
I avoid Amazon I use jersey discount tool you mite check them out great prices far better customer service thanks for watching!
Throw the mountains away to me 😆
Thanks for making the comparison!!
Haha you got up on that camera in the beginning! Newbs need some training. Lol 😂
You should do a review of the UVC light from SP TOOLS USA just ordered it coming this Friday!
Dude I use the icon double sided ratchet wrenches I love them
Awesome
I gotta find that Astro wrench.
Its messed up that you can't find this ratchet wrench anywhere anymore.
They are out of stock astro sucks lately bad
The spline drive is not the problem. Problem is when those $5 technicians over torque a bolt or some one didnt antisieze about that tends to rust.
Spline is trash go watch the torque test channel vid on wrenches

Try the matco set i put some torque on it i only broke 1 in the past 4 years compared to ezred where the pins break
What's up CP ...I do ..I work in dairy...I'm in the shop .aka (shop bitch) I do welding tig, stick, mig. A little fab, electrical and anything else im asked to do.
Hell ya that's awesome
CP, I work on material handling equipment full time, and sometimes work on cars for extra money.
Arnie that's what I meant
Would you recommend the new quinn short impact sockets that copy the capri?
Yes
is it possible to take the head off the astro wrench and put it on the longer mountain wrench handles?
Not that I'm aware of
Do you know who is manufacturing the Carlyle brand? I know NAPA has a relationship with Stanley and Apex tools.
I'm honestly not sure they do business with so many different companies they really spread the love around lol
I work for dodge jeep and Chrysler artioli dealership in Enfield ct
Hell ya brother!!
Where are these at? Seems they are out of stock everywhere. Is there an alternative?
I ordered the 17mm long ratchet wrench. What about a 22mm wrench?
Nope they are slow as heck getting them back in stock unfortunately
I'm tempted to get the hazet 9023m-1 - mini multifunctional air to use the Astros on. Thoughts?
Definitely not bad choices!!
and what do you conside a real mechanical
do the astro nanos work in any 17 or 22mm wrench?
Yes
@@CPthetooladdict Thanks!
Dang it I didn't meet the cp standard I dont wrench on cars everyday 😕 just farm equipment
Lol I definitely am going to hear that on every comment now I should have been a little more specific mechanics in general in all feilds
@@CPthetooladdict I know just giving you a hard time great content as always
I'm not a real mechanic I just can't find a real job
Lol I hear that!!! Lol
Do those nano sockets hold up to high torque if so I need to get a set
Impact rated!
Absolutely sorry I thought most people knew that I apologize for not stating that.
Would i still be classified "real mechanic" if I work on heavy equipment and not cars? 😂
Lol I should have stated that!!
If you have both Mac boxes at your house what toolbox do you have a work?
Have a work what's that mean is that English?
CP the tool addict
At work
This is where I work....you must not follow me very well
I remember watching a video not too long ago where you were doing a shop tour of where you work and it definately wasn’t your home garage.
I'm doing work form my home as well as the shop I moved home to make videos without distractions so the guys could work in the shop it was awesome thing for me.
