I have no recommendations on rebuilders. I always go after a good used transmission myself.

I have a 97 SL. Planning a long road trip and it's on original fuel pump. How do I test? Or should I replace. I don't want to get broken down

If it is old there is no way to test for long term reliability. You can test to see if it runs today. I would just replace the pump for peace of mind.

I have a 1976 220D and i am wondering how often do you have to change the oil in the fuel pump? and is there a drain bolt on it?

It depends on the mileage of the engine and the type of oil you are using. I do it every other engine oil change and this is the oil I recommend. mercedessource.com/store/early-gas-and-diesel-fuel-injection-pump-oil. Yes there is a drain plug. You can google it for exact location
