    Hey guys! Hope this video answers some of the questions folks have been asking!
    I gloss over a few things for the sake of brevity in this video, so feel free to ask away of you'd like to know about anything in more detail.

      Nothing to say, except for as an old Gen-Xer, these "could have been, Panavision" trailers are a lot of fun to watch. Seeing the alternate takes on Chewbaca, Yoda, and even Worf (I don't know if you did the Star Trek NG ones), it all brings a smile to my face.
      How far back does this go? Could you make a "Star Wars alt-trailer" "filmed" in the 30s? What about a "Star Wars" stage production that would have been show in Ford's Theater in Washington DC in April 1865? Or a "Star Wars" stage production that was performed in Ancient Athens as a Greek Tragedy?
      You know, the Beatles in the late 60s were huge Tolkien/LOTR fans. They wanted to make a LOTR movie, with Paul as Frodo, Ringo as Sam, John as Gollum, and George as Gandalf.
      But these are all just ideas. What you are making now is a lot of fun to watch.

      I have an original property that takes place in 1961, could you please contact me so we can see if you can put together a trailer for it? I have permission from the heir of the actor I want used for the main character. I'm producing a comic book series for it, I finished two issues and underway on the third but having one of these gorgeous retro trailers for it will make it so much easier to shop around.

    These videos are trippy. So familiar, yet the 1950's style aesthetic, props, and everything is just wild. Clearly to me, I can tell it's AI generated but I feel like I could show this to my grandparents and maybe even my parents and trick them into thinking Star Wars was actually a remake of an older film. Good stuff man.

    Yeah I’ve been trying to explain to my wife for a while now, that all the ai viral videos she comes across are not what it seems. People believe that you just type in a prompt like “1950s Star Wars trailer” and then the ai produces everything: script, VO, music, and edited video clips. In reality there’s a human spending hours and hours making more and more choices for each element of the finished product. Ai is more like a mindless slave who happens to be creative, but has no ability to do anything close to passable. It only becomes passable when edited together with tiny short clips, and under the guise and novelty of ai. No one would sit back and watch an extended version of ai content. Still fun to see it progress.

      The tern, "Want something done, do it yourself" Comes to mind. Telling a computer EXACTLY what you want is kind of impossible with verbal language. Humans will always be necessary to a degree to fine tune the product the machine is trying to replicate from description, the same way humans get it completely wrong first time, from description only.

    • @davesmith1588
      @davesmith1588 27 днів тому

      This is why AI is not going to replace software developers any time soon. Sure it can spit out code, but you need development experience know what code you want and to to write a suitable prompt. You also need to understand the code it creates in order to know if it's going to do what you wanted.

    • @davidswanson5669
      @davidswanson5669 26 днів тому +1

      @@davesmith1588 right, but it will make beginner developers obsolete. They won’t be able to get jobs until they’ve become experienced enough to do the higher level things that ai won’t ever be good at. I guess it means that college classes will be harder, or you’ll be forced to do as many years of school as you do in the medical field. Naturally this will decrease the developer job market, since less will want to hop on the 10 year program. So it does actually threaten developers, just not current ones.
