- In this video titled EU4 A to Z - Is This SECRETLY The BEST NATION In Italy I play as Lucca in Europa Universalis 4 1.35 Domination. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Lucca and I attempt to form Tuscany, form Italy, conquer all of Italy and conquer all of the Genoa and Venice trade nodes. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future.

Hi.
take all the burgs (hamburg, mecklenburg etc)
What’s up red hawk??
@@jeppepuus well i was referring to countries but that could work
Skip that one and play Luristan of course
Next time as Luneberg, you should (naturally) conquer the moon.
stellaris cross-campaign
All Muslim provinces?
EU4, in SpaaaAAAAaaaccCCcceEe!
@@Witch_King we can be slightly more kind to poor Hawk than that... as Luneburg, convert to Islam while controlling Mecca and Medina.
That way, he "just" needs to conquer his way through Brandenburg, Bohemia, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottomans, and the Mamluks... or possibly take Exploration/Expansion and colonize Inhambane, then conquer through Kilwa, Ajuuraan, Adal, Yemen, and the Mamluks. He's got options.
In fact you can conquer florida to send your people through cap canaveral
Idk if is it just me, but I really enjoy this type of a bit longer campaigns.
In the middle ages Lüneburg had a monopoly on trading with salt thanks to it's own rich deposits and the city was part of the Hanse. It ist still called Hansestadt today.
So as Lüneburg try to become the leader in trading with salt by extending the "Alte Salzstraße" and conquer as much salt producing provinces as possible.
Just FYI: I know, the letter "ü" has no counterpart in English. It lies somewhere between "oo" (German: u) and "e" (German: i). It could also be written as "ue" and I think it is the closest you can get in English. So for Lüneburg try to pronounce it "Lue-ne-boork".
1:40 Lucca is literally the -2nd- 3rd best province in the game for stacking development discounts, the 2nd best being Hanseong in Korea, but only because it's monument at max level gives -25% dev cost.
Lucca has cloth(10), is farmlands(5), and if you bring it to level 2 trade center(5) and put Pisa at level 3(10) Lucca gets -30%
Hanseong has that monument, plus also being farmlands and being a trade center, so it can get up to -40%
Of course, this is ignoring non province specific dev discounts.
Edit: I wasn't aware that Holland has a decision that gives Amsterdam a 25% discount, which makes it the best province for developing to the best of my knowledge. Of course, I could be wrong again.
What about Amsterdam after enacting the decision as Holland?
@@yummyananas TBH, I wasn't aware of that decision. It's also a CoT, farmland, and produces cloth. That means that I was wrong and that Amsterdam is the best at potentially 50%. Always good to learn something new.
Holland/the Netherlands gets a ton of events as well to give permanent buffs to Amsterdam. There is also the Dutch Polders in the province, which not only gives dev cost discount, but also goods produced modifier.
For example, in my Holland->Netherlands->HRE game I just finished I got Amsterdam up to 90 something Dev, and the cost to dev was lower than it was in Den Haag (my Capital) despite being 20 Dev higher
@@Patches2212 The Dutch Polders doesn't give a dev discount. It gives local defensiveness, local devastation reduction, global goods produced, and burgher loyalty equilibrium. I also looked up on the wiki to see if they get any permanent buffs to Amsterdam from their missions or events, aside from that "Land Reclamation" decision that Satyam Anand already pointed out to me. The only one I could find was the "House of Elzevir" event, which changes the trade good from cloth to paper, which would actually increase development cost.
Are you sure all these events that you got weren't from a mod, like Flavor Universalis or something similar?
As Luneberg you should embrace the lune…and conquer all Provence’s with berg in the name
Why though its Name ist Lüneburg.
@@kalterverwalter4516 don’t worry about it sweetie
Last time I played Lucca I LARPed as a trade republic, made a little Greek colony with some of the islands and actual colonies overseas, was a fun way to play.
As always, RedHawk is here with an amazing video to make my day better. Never quit, champ, you are the best!
playing as the small guy in italy is def painful, but unlike some places the light at the end of the tunnel is that even a semi-united italy is busted strong
Less gooo baby that’s what I like to hear! Woooooooo!
Did you just call them hamburger loans?
Since you need "diamond hands" to go to the moon, as Luneberg, become the production leader of Gems.
Lucky lucca is one of my favourite achievements, made me understand how underrated italian minors are for colonization, plus the green colour is probably one of the best in the game, with that said, conquering all of india as an Italian OPM was certainly a challenge :D
I think you missed an opportunity for this run, mang... you should have called it "Use the Sforza, Lucca!"
Really enjoyed this one. Thanks for playing long
My name is LUCCA AND I LIVE ON THE SECOND FLOOR😊
For me it was the most satisfying video for long time. Thank you
Lucca was where the House of Canossa was from - i.e. Matilda of Tuscany's family.
i kinda like the longer runs since it feels domination adds abit of content for the later gameplay. maybe im the only one but i like an eu game that runs on abit longer than the usual 100 year or so run
This was a really fun campaign. Would love to see you take all the Burg cities as Luneburg.
Something I have noticed in this pach is that in Italy when you get moderatly big, its a good idea to release opms to vassalize them for an extrea few provances without any ae.
Got a severe defeat on HOI4 and you release a video at that moment x) moral went high in a second XD
As Luneburg, go the colonization route and colonize Atlantic Canada to become Lunenburg instead of Luneburg😂
such a fun campaign, i'd love to see you continue some of these more successful ones into a part 2 :D What number GP were you at the end?
Hi hawk! Will love if you elaborated on the estates for each nations as a regular viewer and a regular eu4 player myself i will be very helpful! Dont mind even longer vids love your vids keep the good work up! ❤
1600 Italy with all of Genoa and Venice Trade nodes is very impressive.
Luneburg to Luna (the moon) make your nation ultra tall without expanding outside of your state. Play Ultra tall and take all the electors as vessels and become emperor
“Rome is now Protestant.” No matter how many times it happens, it always feels weird
red hawk coming in clutch when looking for new eu4 content
Protestant Italy is kinda cursed, love it
They even buffed quantity idea, the quantity meta returning
I'd like to make a cutting comment about your scraggly beard, except that mine looks pretty much the same at the moment.
I think the AI just don't have the ability to declare a coalition war in this current patch. In my latest campaign, as england i pu'd france, vassalized scotland and took half of ireland, i had a coalition of the italian states, castiile-aragon PU, the entire HRE except for Austria, and also Denmark, were a coalition war declared, the would have outnumbered me and my allies of portugal, sweden, austria-hungary, 2 to 1. But they never fired it, and instead I actually got declared on by burgundy (in the coalition) for a province within france, so clearly the AI thought I was weak enough to be attacked. But the coalition never fired.
Love long runs :)
Live your videos!
normally as Milan (in my opinion) luca is an ideal (though not always possible) place to take first (while it does give high ae if you do it. owning luca allows Milan to take all of genoa's Italian land which kicks them from the hre, however for some reason (at least for me) they tend to ally nations such as the papal states or Austria or even France or Aragon which makes me have no choice but to use there alliance networks against them)
Thanks for the video
A Italian classic
The reason why Hesse always get emperorship is because they start with +1 diplo rep in their traditions
Oh.. I thought only Saluzzo was good among Italian OPMs, but I'll have to try it later.
Thank you!
I've noticed that RH often sits on the decision to state stuff up. Why is that? I state stuff up as soon as the prompt shows up. (Not including trade companies naturally)
@TheRedHawk can you do a guide on mamluks, I’m new and my friends wanted me to play with them but I always have a hard time fighting the ottomans and I lose every battle please help!!
Bruh you should give espionage a chance. It's low-key diplo combined with offensive, definitely worthy in italy and non-emperor HRE. Always picking meta ideas get boring anyway.
please make more long videos like this!
As Luneberg conquer the entire fertile crescent region. And make the Ottomans not exist. (Bonus)
Based Italian Poland. Jak zwykle Polska górą!
How does always know how many troops + cannons he should build? I know soldiers is by max combat width, but not sure about the rest with cavalry and cannons.
I’ll try to explain with my extremely basic understanding of how the units are positioned in combat.
Cavalry and infantry fight from the front line, which can be as wide as the max combat width. Cavalry will always fill out the outer edge while infantry will be in the center. Artillery fight from the second line as long as an infantry or cavalry is able to stand in front of them, otherwise they fight from the front.
When the enemy front line becomes thinner than yours, your units start flanking. Cavalry can flank from farther away than infantry.
I’m nearly certain there’s something I’ve forgotten, so consider reading up on land combat on the wiki. But these are the basics of combat that determine how you might decide to compose an army.
Bro where are the guides at 😩. My go to
'lucca is secretely the best italian nation'
I counter with mantua. they get +0.10 Imperial authority modifier 👀
Everybody knows it’s saluzzo, duh
Redhawk your videos are great but recently I noticed you seem to say “man” a lot. I am probably the only one who it annoys. As always great content
Does anyone know if there is a mod out there that lets you create custom mercenary companies?
bro do north African pirate republic video
Sunday
Quite weird you hace to take Cilli or Goriz but not Trento
Based
You're still in the "L"s.
Beloozero Run II: Electric Boogaloo when?
As lunda you should own the Lund province in denmark and culture convert it to Lunda culture
Does republican tradition recover a lot faster now? I feel like taking higher monarch point leaders always leads to low tradition and eventual kingdom forming
As Luneburg conquer all country with a moon on the flag !!!
It's Lüneburg not Luneburg...
I only played Naples in Italy
Fun
Are you budget monk?
You forgot Trent 🙂🙂
No Lucky Lucca run? 😢
I live on the 7th floor.
Imagine...Confederate Vikings
Pain? You mean spain?
*should've titled the video **_the Italian misclicks_** , would've been better*
2:19 NOOB
Lucchesi is the proper demonym not Luccanen
nah, lucca aint the best nation in italy
SALUZZO IS!! (it has the greatest ideas for an opm)
Saluzzo ideas+orthodox+espionage+spy network+influence/innovative policy = effectively no AE
No views or comments yet?
disgusting
Way too quick. Can’t understand anything you’re saying or doing
