Loved watching this. Moving to Baltimore next month. It’s no New York but I’m excited to set up a creative community and getting better at marketing myself. Kaizen!
So many valuable lessons in this video. From someone that's been down this road, you've explained it perfectly and reminded me that I should still be learning every day.
This was an amazing video. As someone who wants to transition from a non creative career to a creative career but didn’t know where to start, this was very insightful. My 365 days starts today.
My town has a 4 figure population, also not a people person, and yet I love to create things. When it sells, it is validating, and you get to make a mark on the world. Always looking to improve. Love to see others doing cool things, keep winning ✅
This is great advice. It reaffirms my prior belief that I should be learning all aspects of marketing, rather than choosing a single skill and maximizing my expertise in that area. Being 80% effective in many skills makes you a killer in any leadership or dynamic role. Outsource the final 20% the experts in that specific skill.
12:16 "I look back at life before I had kids and wonder what did I do with my time? And now every single moment I am humming because I have to be" -OJ This hit me like a ton of bricks, couldn't relate more. #keephumming
Thanks Oren. Each point you made directly resonated with my position as junior in college. You've given me a road map for my career. Patents and Intellectual property have been what I've been researching recently. turning design into residual income through writing a book, social media, or making a video game, stuff like that seems like my next move.
Appreciate the advice Oren! Love your content. I’m 18 myself and keen to enter into the world of branding and creative direction/design like you do. Thanks again.
Thank you Oren, this video is so valuable, I think one year before It would've not hit that hard, posted it on the exact time I needed it as im already implementing a lot of these things. You're comforting me on the road map. Thanks again !
Man I really appreciate your content, it really is helping me reshape my mind as a creative. Just being able to see/hear how your mind operates is a blessing, thank you for not gatekeeping 🙏🏽
This video brings me so much joy! I’ve been doing what he’s speaking about for a good 2-3 years at a deep level & always wondered if I was on the right path or not since I don’t have any feedback (yet to launch). To see my fav creator & commentator speak on this EXACT thing is a sign I’m on the right track! Thank you bro, love from Australia!
Informative as always. Can you make a video on cold pitching or being careful to pitch your ideas so others don’t steal and how such a process looks like?
Im 42 and have been blessed with a awesome 20 year career and Im still out here figuring things out. Still learning new things about illustrator and photoshop every day. Its a long road. Enjoy it.
Hello!! I absolutely love Your content!! Can you explain how do you apply your mood boards examples on your social media, websites and visual content? Thank you 😊 ❤🙏
Your content is unmatched. Could u do a video on some advice for networking/finding communities for creatives? moving is the first solution that comes to mind but other than that how do I go from having zero creative friends when stuck in a small city like Newcastle that has little to no opportunity. I’m an Aussie artist, would u recommend moving to a larger city in my country like Melbourne or Sydney, or should I take a leap of faith and move country into a big city like New York? I am planning to move regardless but I just haven’t been outside my city to see what any of these places are actually like for us artists and am unsure what it takes. I look forward to more of your content, cheers. Alexander
If you can swing it, do New York. I met all my creative Aussie friends there, included one who's now a brand partner. Fwiw I went once there and failed - 3 months and I was out of money and moved back to where I went to college and new I could work. Tried it again two years later and knew what I was getting into and it worked. Will think on the networking part. I think now there's so many brands and creators also working to foster community and do meetups its actually getting easier and easier
