- After a busy week selling cars I need to replace them, it's been tough, cars are selling for ridiculous prices! Luckily I managed to bag a Vauxhall Insignia from BCA Brighouse, a site which I have had trouble from before, let's see if this one is any better
plastic bumpers are always a slight different color and it's an old ish car so wouldn't really worry too much
@hayes2096 it'll be getting a good polish regardless so hopefully it comes up a bit better
Not a fan of Insignia diesels, like a lot of folk but, that one looks straight and in really good ccondition and with those miles on, I'd be pushing for £2.5k. As others will say, there's no issue with the bumpers other than the same paint looks different on plastic than it does on metal, especially with age.
@@graemew7001 I've never had bad experience with them, yeah you're probably right. The front I definitely think has had paint but I mean come on it's 14 years old anyway of course it is. Autotrader says 2 is bang on the momey. If my mechanic tells me it's had a cambelt it'll definitely be 2250
@@FlippinMotorsUK That surprises me that you can pick up a car like that with those miles on for £2k but, every day is a school day with cars, that's why I'm hooked on them. I agree, most cars by that age have had paint somewhere along the line.
@graemew7001 yes I think 1995 would be excellent value but someone must have 2200 for it or close too
@@FlippinMotorsUKgo for £2200 and then you have room to move if you're happy with a lower price. You get what you want, and the buyer gets the smug feeling of "negiotiating" IMO.
@RikAindow yeah that's what I've been trying to do just add an extra hundred quid on what I want
You need to make sure these are not over filled on oil in order to submerge the oil pickup seal, a notorious 2.0 Siggy failure point.
@@karter5351 ah is that the common cause? It will be getting serviced with the correct oils etc
i have had 1 Nova 2 Corsa's and 3 Astra's and never had many problems with them. Just bought a 9 month old Skoda Kamiq 1.5 DSG, absolutely love it. Hopefully I will get a similar MPG as the Astra SRi 150 BHP at 54 mpg
@@martingreenwood1560 sounds a good buy. I was previously selling at Skoda and the Kamiq 1.5 should get you very close to that, if driven carefully they will get close to or around 60 MPG on a run
Looks like a good car for that price Lewis, good luck with it mate
@@colinallen39 thanks mate I certainly think so
I was about to say "Service Vehicle Soon" can be scary or vague on an Insignia. Look after the cambelt waterpump and oil pressure seal and you'll be fine. I love my 14 Plate Tech Line with the facelift and cleared up interior. Nowt special or racy but perfect rep-mobile and family bus
@@johnedwards3198 yes it was just the oil reset. I had a 40 mile run today and this Insignia was the car of choice. Effortless on a run
Looks like a tidy Insignia that. Spec wise, they always were a bit low compared to the Mondeo mk4. The price of around £2200 sounds about right for me as i just paid £1400 for a 2012 Mondeo Titanium X estate with almost double the mileage. Mileage doesnt put me off though if all the bits have been done and the condition is tidy. Bits being things like timing belt, clutch, DMF, etc.
As for the bumpers, do they not just stand out due to being a light coloured car with plastic meeting metal? I know that was common with the silver and light blue Mondeos..
@@RikAindow yeah I think that seems about right too. Funnily enough I've just bought a Mondeo with 110k that's a Titanium, off to pick it up now. Yeah it could be although there is signs of paint being applied not just the shade
I stay away from them then this one is a Bobby dazzler. Solid buy
@@zzhughesd I reckon so. Previous owner since 2016 too which is a good sign
Your boot switch has failed on the Insignia. Very common fault and an easy fix. Costs a couple of quid for a switch and an easy DIY job. Plenty of help with youtube videos.
@@johnyoung1303 thanks mate I've figured out how to open it, I'll likely just get one ordered for the cost and get it prepped quicker
Interesting prices are high at auction. Im not far from Brighouse and bought a car there years ago when joe public was allowed.
@@JC-hu1wd yes sadly not the case now. I know G3 let the public in at Castleford. Yes this week especially they've been scary. Some cars must be sat around with no profit in even before preparation costs
@FlippinMotorsUK Aye, I enquired with g3 last year but their fees and deposit for the public are excessive. Not worth the hassle.
@JC-hu1wd I think most charge a deposit even for dealers. G3 may be worth a go. Wilson's charge 750 deposit and around 30% more in fees for Joe public
@FlippinMotorsUK off memory it was £500 deposit but the % commission for public was excessive. Also would need luck as a rookie against the old timers.
@JC-hu1wd yes absolutely and working on smaller margins too let alone the higher fees
2495 lad!!! low miles fior the age, cheap tax and easy on fuel......
@@MariaMadden-d1d yeah you're probably right there
