  • Hello and welcome to another xtera video ! In this video I an finally working on upgrade my full suspension by doing a Titan Swap that I bought from Nisstec Lifts. It took me some time I had some issues but in the end it all got done ! hope you guys enjoy this video and might find it helpful !
    Make sure you install upper control arm boll joins in correct orientation! one side had to be changed when I went for alignment

      Well if you going to buy parts here and there it might be slightly more expensive unless you find something on sale but that way you can pick the parts that you want and something better . SO you can make a list of all parts you need and try to search for them add them all up and see how much it would be ( keep in mind that you prob will have to pay separate shipping on all of them ) so that might add up more .. and then look at few already put together kits and see what's the price difference .
      Would love to know what you find out )) how much would be one vs another

    Glad I live in the west ! my X has zero rust ! any bolt comes off easly. Good vid on the swap !

      Thank you so much ! I am happy and glad if this video might be helpful to anyone I think it shows that it can be done just needs some time and planning and it don't need alot of tools. I have another video where I actually show all the tools you need for titan swap !

    Great video! When PB blaster doesn't want to let those stuck bolts go throw a little heat on it with a torch. Should help get those stubborn pieces loose.

      Hey thank you very much ! and thank you for the tip yeah been told alot about torch. I should get something soon. Any recommendations ? or anything will do as long torch lol

      @@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO you can get something as simple as a propane (usually blue bottle) or Map gas torch (usually yellow bottle) from a local hardware store. Map gas will burn just a little hotter.

    Looks great! You made a tremendous amount of work look easy. How much lift did you gain? How difficult will it be if you want to increase your lift at a later time?

      Hey thank you very much ! to be honest I am waiting for suspension to settle and I will measure and make a new video with walk around soon that way its going to be more realistic lift that I gained if you know what I mean. As to lift it more I can gain another 1inch by simply adjusting my coilovers and changing bolt position on shackle ( if im not mistaking ) but for now I am very happy with the way it looks , feels and drives ! I dont really want it to be too high ether .. lol

    Great video that will help others doing suspension work. And saw the other video following up with the axle seal! everything an X owner would need in one spot! How do you like the ride?

      Oh I love it ! truck feels amazing ! yes it rides different you need to adjust yourself on how to drive it how you do the turns on highway and on the road but this is not a race car so its all good I love it )

      as for the sway bars yes I removed both front and rear. but if you do just be careful you will need to learn again how to drive the truck as it will have alot of body roll so yeah something to consider . Some people only remove the front and keep the rear

    Going to be doing this (I’m hoping) in a few weeks. Pretty sure I have all the parts needed, need some of the tools. But I’m going full front swap, which has the titan hubs and axles and all that jazz. But awesome job explaining everything! Subbd

      @@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO more than likely will be doing it in my driveway alone, average time is around 2-3 days. If weather goes as planned shouldn’t take me much longer than 3 days

      @@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO I live in the southern states so rust isn’t a factor for the most part here. I just did my hub (temp fix) this past week and looking at everything, wasn’t nothing rusty. But this video helped a lot and let me know what I was missing (tool wise) I have all new bolts to go back into pretty much everything (front) minus the diff mounting bolts. Even got new drive shaft bolts.

    I wonder the arrow on top of strut mount should point to inside or outside? some video says in but yours are not.

      hey ! are you referring to the shock mounts ? if so I installed my the way they fit into the holes and with the lettering to be out to the outside ( but in reality it shouldn't matter ) as long as all mounting holes match . But then again it might depend on the shock . What shocks do you have ?

    I think you put the uca ball joint on backwards. The rounded side should be facing the front of the vehicle.

      Hey yeah you are absolutely right unfortunately I didn't find out about it later.. I must to misunderstood the paper work that it came with.. but when I went for alignment they fixed it for me. Thank you again to brining it out again.

    great video! so this titan swap you just got Titan parts for it? or are these modified Titan parts specifically manufactured for use on an Xterra?

      Hey ! thank you for watching ! well it could be both to be honest but in this case like front coils/springs are specifically for Xterra the LCA is from titan but they do make different models for this kind of build as well same as for UCA ) Hope it helps and answers your question.

      @@richardli8634 Great plan ! I believe there is some modification required and I do believe that UCA is not the same it won't work you will need to get an after market one nor the shocks are not the same I believe . I think alot of guys they get tundra coils and then get blistin shocks and tophot in order to make it work some trimming might require . So just doublecheck make sure it all will work )) but other then that good luck do please come back later with your build ! ))

    Did you experience driveline vibration after the lift when driving around 30 to 40 mph?

      Hello there ! No there is no vibration at all around that speed or any other speed for that matter I heard and read that some people have issues with vibration at that speed but I think I got lucky or something ))) lol

      I will be daily driving my xterra, but I seen mixed comments on the front sway bar removal when ur on the highway.

      @@tylercorkum3569 yes you defiantly will have to adjust the ay you drive it .. if you remove it... can't do any sharp fast turns or anything
      so for that you will probably need to get this way bar links

      But I would also recommend you to call them up the NisstecLift team. .and they will tell you better.. I called them few times during my work on the turck and they always had answers for me
      btw if your lower control arms or shock bolts seized and you need to cut them make sure you order new set.. I had to order form them separately later and had to wait for it to be shipped

    I have another question did you adjust the coil overs to get 4 inches or u did not mess with it and it lifted up to 4 inches, also which setting did u use for the shackles in the rear?

      The Coil overs were adjust at the shop by Nissteclifts before they ship them at 3 inch lift I believe so I did not mess with it. as for the rear shackles I am on the middle setting there as well not all the way to the top one.

      @@tylercorkum3569 I would suggest so.. as you dont want to have it all the way on top setting... as I think it might be too stiff but you can also find out with them.. when I was placing my order I was also on the phone with them and we looked at all the part list to have most optimized setting for the parts I got.. yes it can be 4inch and can also put the leaf spring on shackel all the way on the top just then you will need to get new extended bump stops too.. ( I dont think they are that expensive ) and if I new I should have gotten new ones because I just replaced my anyway when I worked on my frame . But I like my setup the way it ..is.. I dont want to push it too high.. I mean there is always someone with bigger lift.. but I have good ride quality and no vibration so I like to keep it that way

      @@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO ya I understand I just want my xterra to look just like yours, so I want to make sure that the coilovers are 3 inches already. I didn't know if u did like a special order to get the coilovers set to 3 inches already or not.

      @@tylercorkum3569 Got you buddy yeah... when I was placing an order I asked them to preset it to 3 inch not more.. so the front and rear would both have 3 inch of lift.

      There are quite few gains there.... Higher lift anywheree between 3-5+ inches . wider stand, better travel " suspension articulation" over obstacles ofc is the main reason

      @@Gokywildcats11 depending on the build you go how high and what parts you will go with there are few budget options to out there that will cost around $2k and then it shoots anywhere to $3-$5k

      Well it all depends really as what parts and from where to get them.. SO it could be anywhere between $2k up to $5k like i said what parts to get...

      @@tylercorkum3569 what time /day you call them ? I mean when I made a order I call them and then few days before install I call them few times and then even on Saturday I believe during install I call them and they always answered me. After that I also ordered 2 inch body lift and I had some e-mail exchange with them they seem to answer most of the time.. maybe they were closed for vacation ?
      Please let me know if they get back to you or not.. I did had some small issues with them during 2 inch body lift kit.. they send me only 8 bolts instead of 10 and one bolt was missing threads completely .. lol but after my e-mail and phone call they spend me missing bolts no problem

      @DIY - AUTO & PHOTO I called them 3 times on Friday February 17th around 3pm before I placed a order but they didn't answer back so I placed the order that day and now it Wednesday the 22nd I tryed calling them twice no answer because I wanted to check up on my order. Then I read comments on there website and they had alot of negative feedback.
