    ~~~~ 'Sabrah?... Wanna go with ya... to CANAHAVA!' ~~~~
    Canahavuh is a strange land
    Where just nuthin' I understand
    Here they speak Assimilation,
    Catanation and Elision
    Mainly spoken is Elision
    When some letters are forgotten
    Hear 'Fish 'n' chips' where 'and' is lost
    Or 'Mos' common' where 't' is gone
    Still more puzzling is 'wha d' ya see?'
    And 'would' ya like a cuppa tea?'
    Then, Linking or Catanation
    New words are born in a fusion:
    'Wanna anegg or anapple?'
    Gotta say this has me puzzled!
    'Beautifuleyes', 'beautiful lies?' ...
    Did ya say 'burned out' or 'burn doubt'?
    When the words are pushed together
    Well, I hafta 'thinkitover'!
    Last one is Assimilation
    First-sounds are gone, new sounds are born
    Tis common in Canahavuh
    Where 'tuh' and 'yuh' blend into 'tchuh'
    'Dont' chuh like it my dear brother?'
    And 'wont' chuh come over later?'
    Here PussyCat dolls speak like tha':
    Didja, wouldja, couldja, shouldja
    Canahavuh's the place to reach
    To learn connected speech secrets
    There with ya Hun', 'wanna make it
    So please, can_a_hav_uh ticket? ...
    f. 😘🌹❤❤❤👍🙏
    Wonderful hacks and secrets 'bout fast and connected speech and fantastic presentation!
    Merci beaucoup Sabrah! Bisous 😍🥰And thanks for the inspiration once more ! ;-) :-)
    3 Secrets of Connected Speech, Elision, Assimilation, Catenation
    How much connected speech is used depends on: Formality, Regional accent, Speed of the conversation
    Elision Where weaker sounds or words are eaten by stronger sounds and so they disappear. Typically /t/ is lost as it can be a weak sound. You and to lose the long oo /uː/ sound and become schwa /ə/. The word and is often lost and becomes ‘n’ ‘Fish n chips’. ‘Most common’ becomes mos’common /t/ is lost. ‘Next door’ becomes Nex’door- again /t/ is lost. ‘What do you think?’ becomes Wha’da ya think? ‘Got to’ becomes Gotta - we lose one of the /t/ sounds. Would you like a cup of tea? This becomes: ‘Would ya (Pronounced with schwa) like a cup a (schwa sound) tea?’ Catenation or linking - Words get pushed together and can actually sound like a new word. This happens when one word ends in a consonant and the next starts with a vowel. An apple - becomes anapple Consonant Vowel. ‘She has beautifuleyes’ Consonant Vowel. Can sound like beautiful lies. What extra word can you hear here that is being created by two words being pushed together? ‘UA-camrs often get burned out by all the hard work they have to do’. Burnedout - sounds almost like burn doubt. Why don’t you think it over? This becomes: ‘Why don’t you Thinkitover?’ Assimilation. When certain sounds are pushed together they create new sounds and the original sounds are lost. /t/ and /j/ sound when pushed together make a new sound. /d/ and /j/ sound when pushed together make a new sound. This means that when one word. Ends with a /t/ sound and the next word starts with a /j/ sound (often spelled as y) they make a ch sound /fʃ/. /d/ and /j/ sound when pushed together make a /dӡ/ so when one words end in d and the next with a /j/ then they make a /dӡ/ can sound like j. /j/ this is not the letter j the phoneme represents the y sound found in you and young. The j sound is symbolised by this phoneme: /dӡ/ this is found in jam and jump. /t/ and /j/ sound make a ch sound /tʃ/. /d/ and /j/ make a j sound /dӡ/. Don’t you like it - sounds like ‘Don’tcha’ like it’. Won’t you come over later? Sounds like- Won’tcha come over later?. I’ll meet you later sounds like -‘I’ll meetcha later’
    Did you - sounds like didja
    Would you - sounds like wouldja
    Could you - sounds like couldja
    Should you - sounds like shouldja
    Behind you - sounds like behindjoo
    Now it is your turn!!!
    On which side of the road should you drive on in the UK? This becomes: ‘On which sidea the road shouldja drive on in the UK?’ The most common saying about health is an apple a day keeps the doctor away. This becomes: ‘The moscommon saying about health is anapple a day keeps the doctor away’ Did you do the shopping? This becomes: ‘Didja do the shopping?’ Don’t you like the new eggs I bought? This becomes: Don’tcha like the neweggs I bought? What do you think of my new look? This becomes: Whaddaya think of my new look?
      I m not a native speaker but it means something like "being in the state of" . For example i can t have you doing this means I cannot see you (for a longer time) doing sth.
      Like you do something for a longer time and somebody else doesn t like it. I do not know if this clarifies your doubts
