Will there be a Day 1 Firmware Patch? Will the Input Lag be fixed? Will it be the same as last year's MK 30th? What are your thoughts? Let me know below!
A much better improvement of the Mortal Kombat II cab. And I like the speaker grills instead of drill holes for the speakers. Hopefully they get it right with the game play. The joysticks and the buttons always can be changed for not a lot of money. Thanks for the great video.
Ms.Pac-Man has not launched in the winter in years, they basically pushed it to summer to have it with whatever they are doing for atari deluxe and capcom deluxe. Arcade1up doesn't seem to do software fixes unless they know it will increase sales too but there will be some kind of day one at least.
I still have the first mortal kombat that arcade 1up released. I got it on release day and it's my only arcade 1up left of 13. I upgraded the buttons and sticks I'm happy with it.
PDubs, I'm happy you have another cabinet to be excited about, especially in a form factor that works better for you. Since I'm not big into Mortal Kombat, I'm glad Arcade1up was able to take care of me with a Defender variant. And though it would've been cool to have the original Defender button layout found on an original commercial cabinet, I'm still amazed how Arcade1up was able to pull off the same experience (for me) with a button layout which also allows the other games to function great as well, (well, except for Paperboy, which I would've swapped that one out for Robotron as Robotron actually has a control scheme built into the cabinet with its twin sticks). I started to lose hope I would ever have a Williams collection in my arcade and have to settle for a Mortal Kombat skin to get it, but glad Arcade1up was able to make it happen (oooh, and that Joust variant looked amazing as well, except for the horrible monitor). And just so you know, I don't hate Mortal Kombat as a series. I did have some fun playing Mortal Kombat II in the arcades, though it was never a go-to game for me, and I loved the 3D fighters on my PS2. I also think Mortal Kombat has really hit its stride ever since they released MK 9 and every iteration has been fun since. But speaking of software and lag when it comes to Arcade1up products... Given Arcade1up's exceedingly long times to fix their software, if at all (Quantum still doesn't play properly on my Atari Deluxe 12 in 1 cabinet and I bought that cabinet back in 2018), whether it be lag, gameplay, sound, or even getting online functionality to work in the first place, Arcade1up has shown this isn't a top priority for them. I wouldn't buy a cabinet if correcting lag issues is a priority for you. Now if you're looking at upgrading a cabinet that came with a horrible monitor to a new variant with a good monitor, that may be a compelling reason, but just don't hold your breath that you'll be lucky enough to get something fixed when it comes to their software. They've shown to me, they just don't care most of the time. I hope this new machine works out for you if you do decide to get it :) vgv
PDubs, Sorry about that, I misread the inflection in your voice and added my own assumption :( I'll be more careful in the future. Thank you as always for bringing us the latest and giving your thoughts on all the new stuff :) vgv
Why? Why are we STILL dealing with input lag? This is nuts. You can build just about anything, dirt cheap, with no lag. We're not even talking wireless controls!
Great video! It's interesting that you were talking about the input lag. When I turned on my MK30th today there was an update. Only thing that I saw that was updated is that now there are MK icons next to your name on the leaderboards??? I knew something was missing!
More in context, I really think we should expect what we known from A1Up and allow ourselves to be surprised if things are better. Time and time again we've hoped and discussed things to improve upon, but only a small few have changed. So at this point, I'll say 'it couldn't get any worse' than we already know.
PDubs, do you think they’ll do an MK Pro series cabinet? Full size cabinet (or close to it) with a bigger screen & more spacious joystick & buttons setup?
They need to fix the sound as well, in older MK cabinets you notice it on MK1, the title screen where it makes that high pitched sound in the 1up versions the sound channels are messed up and the drums sound louder. On Mame you can fix that by adjusting the sound channels. Hopefully the speakers are upgraded since they have speaker grills. If you are paying $400-500 for this it should be arcade perfect. And they should have added a few more Midway/Williams/Atari games, like NARC and Pit Fighter. I have those on Midway Treasures discs for PS2.
I just shot back from best buy where they had this deluxe cabinet and the input lag was severely bad. Almost a full second! I should've taken a video, but it was very noticeable and I was shocked at how bad it was.
So the market will be flush with riser versions of Arcade1up so everyone can upgrade to the Deluxe and XL models going forward? Still moving around quite abit in the game play video though.
A1UP was never able to nail down the input lag. Every cab has it. All of my cabs even after all their updates have the slight input lag. I wish 19” screens would replace the little 17”.
Hey there man haven't been around much but glad ur still doing these vids. Honestly Arcade 1up I learn my lesson years ago...half a$$ed cabinets in the first wave to then release a new one that's better which is great yeah but unless you got money to keep burning you won't be upgrading lol
Great video on MK 2 deluxe with full scaled picture. I know it has online wireless wifi ..But can you pls. Confirm where is the Ethernet connection rear Jack connection as my place has very poor wireless..Thx
It looks nice. It honestly does. But they've had 4 MK cabs to get this right. They seem to be purposefully hedging. There should be no offline lag. Fix the emulation and add online spectate. Just those 2 things and this would be the coup de grâce. I could bark about a bigger monitor, or HAPP sticks, or the side art, but those things are easier to upgrade. When the game itself has issues, I might as well buy an empty real MK cab and throw a PC in it.
They didn’t update the software 9 times out of 10 I bet they just rebuild the cabinet base on their history of doing things I want MK cab though idk if I should wait for Mk4 possibly or just get this cab…
There is one of these online here in Japan for 105000en ( $770 US ) Is it not worth it and better to build something on your own? Also can you add games to these boxes?
I highly doubt that they're going to fix input lag in any of these cabinets. Most of the cabinets after the first gen run are plagued with heavy input lag and they have yet to acknowledge that it exists.
So my mortal combat arcade 1 up screen stopped showing and picture of the game. You can hear it start up but there's nothing to show. Do you know how I can fix this problem?? When younger kids come over, they love to play it, so I don't wanna toss it if I can fix it.
why don't they just add an option to have the 30th anniversary mk1 or mk3 cabinet prints.... I don't like the mk 2 as much now I still have to wait for the 30th anniversary mk1 to become a deluxe option? lame....
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I know it’s a long shot, but what are the chances of 1Up releasing a Deluxe MK3 & MK4? I want to line up all 4 cabs like the arcades back in the day.
The Deluxe has a different aspect ratio than the MK30th so I assume they at least patched it to adjust that. Hopefully they included some other fixes along the way.
5:42 I definitely have been trying to make silent noise about Class of 81. Because like Travis mentioned it's an issue that once you see, you can't unsee. But I have Faith in Travis, I heard they know what's up, I mean I already spoke to them directly on Launch of Class of 81, now they have more Confirmation of the same stuff I have already been saying. But considering the issue is kinda.... . . What? Invisible until you become aware, it becomes a thing more about whether A1UP finds it Worth it to fix software issues than it is about if they know about them. They definitely have until Official Launch of these Deluxe cabs to provide final Software via a Patch so all impressions could be finalized. @PDubs Arcade Loft One thing I would ask KiddVidd or someone else with a Deluxe cab to provide a look at the PCB to confirm any Hardware Changes.
I’m not sure how 1up continues to fail on something as important as emulation. I hope a patch comes out to both MK 30th and Deluxe but I don’t see it happening any time soon as MvC2 still doesn’t even have online. You have to get the gameplay right, there’s no excuse
I love that I bought this in legacy and I’m sorry but… Does Arcade1Up know how to market their products? Through the years one thing they lack is that. John D has always wanted to be a “Superstar” and in my opinion “HE” has held them back. UA-camrs shouldn’t be your advertisement angle. Just saying… Not you but your Peeps.
Still haven’t bought anymore of their cabs since ridge racer was on sale last June. And this one isn’t gonna entice me either. Do it right or don’t do it at all. Really can’t be that difficult. No buy till they get it right my guy!
So the question is why they keep releasing cabinets unfinished when they've had the same problems as before? Why the community keep buying them when word is out somethings still wrong with them? Same in video gaming "gamers" still pre-order from companies that keep releasing the same unfinished broken games yearly. UA-camr's and customer's must take a stand not to purchase these products until companies fix these problems! If nothing is done the same will just continue to happen.
Used to love looking at Arcade1up videos. Now, I can't stomach any of them. Their products are over hyped and once a customer purchases one of theses overpriced products, theres just let down after let down. Don't expect quality from them and you won't be surprised when their products are released. 1/4 cabs, disappointing. XL cabs, disappointing. Pro cab, disappointing. I don't even touch my arcades anymore. Literally collecting dust. Was a good hobby while it lasted but, in my opinion it's time to let it all go.
Arcade1up is reliant on the community allowing them to continue their poor performance, while raking in your hard earned dollars. Quality control, like the community is NOT their priority.
the thing that keeps me from arcade 1 up is those joy sticks they use are trash. Maybe they have changed. But I got a street fighter back when they first came out you couldnt even do a dragon punch of those sticks. Straight trash.
