Can I ask kindly apart from debugging the depth in viewport is there a reason you’d use you depth material at render rather that the inbuilt movie render queue pass?
I find the movie render queue very fiddly with these post process materials. Ao for example looks terribly wrong when done in the render queue only. I think your mileage may vary, this was my experience. Maybe there is a setting that I've overlooked.
