Ive got the ac30cc2x with blue celestion speakers and i love it. the advantage of this amp is that it allows you to play at lower wattage as it loud if you crank it, and has great effects loops and wiring capabilities, so for the price used, its amazing. I changed all my tubes out to mullards and it made a massive difference to the stock chinese tubes the amp came alive and not as icepick bright, definitely worth the investment.
Great review of this classic... I was rather impressed with its reverb, not so much the big sky hall through it. Congrats on the purchase, trust you'll put it to good use. 😎👍
Came from your AC4 video. I've heard the genuine rock sound I grew up with. but, I think AC30 is too loud. at home, you can volume up to vox's sweet broken sound? I love full vol'd ac30 sound!!
You have the talent to make it shine. I have a similar el84 box the Matchless Lightning. I use it out of a Strymon Deco stereo to a Marshall TSL60 4x12. Thanks for the sounds!
Pretty sure the guitar community unanimously agrees the AC30 is one of the best amps for pedals. The worship community has made a movement out of Vox and Strymon!
Hej!
Very Cool Demo/Review Thankyou. Very Interesting, informative and Entertaining Video displaying the many Tones available. Dream of getting Vox AC30 one day but will have to just enjoy my awesome Vox VT40+. Cheers from Perth.
Just found your channel and binging on the great content here. Like you, a year ago I stumbled into a great deal on an open box AC30c2x. You asked for tips… the best is to head over to Psionic Audio channel. Lyle Caldwell is an amp guru that works on JMI to modern AC30s. He has great videos detailing the modern variants and how to make them more reliable. He gives top marks to the C2x for its build quality and prefers it over the handwired series (which cut many corners to keep cost down). Have you tried the Crowther Hot Cake OD pedal yet? Supposed to be great with AC style amps.

Lovely tone. Thanks for the great playing

I prefer the reverb and trem through the AC30 over my Deluxe.
@@middleagedgearjunkie High accolades indeed. Very nice!!

You can with these modern ones because it has a master volume. The AC15 might be a better choice for home.

Thank you for your kind comments. If only my guitars would stay in tune.
Love that little Jimmy Barnes riff in there!

Great vid!
Thanks
Mine doesn't have all those buttons, and it looks very old, it is from 1963... should I through it away and get a new one?
You should have it dated, if it's old and you don't want it sell it.
I was just kidding. I know what it's worth... @@middleagedgearjunkie
@@thornil2231 thank God! 😄
Thanks a lot :)
No worries

I'm sure this convict descendant appreciates a bit of swedish. Jättebra! Is the whole internet autotranslated into sverige in sweden or vad fan?
This is a very helpful review. Thanks!

I'll have to update my passport so I can get to Perth one day!
@@middleagedgearjunkie I hear they don't actually mind Queensland's over there Jason these days. 🤣

Nirvana settings for this amp?
@monasteryintibet there's not many settings. On the normal channel it doesn't even have treble and bass.
@@middleagedgearjunkie what about while using top boost? 😫 any tips would be highly appreciated. I can’t afford a new amp 😅
Jason says this amp can't really grunge out but I disagree! This amp is all over STP Core album,Sabbath Paranoid & Stooges Raw Power.
Like the way you show settings links too more please

Thanks for the advice, I did own a hot cake, but that was before I had a vox.
Can someone tell me which amp should i get? Ac30c2 or ac30c2x?
Will you make a pedal video for vox ac30 olease
In plan to.
I hate the EQ controls on these amps!
My ac30c2x is way more harsh than yours! Brittle and harsh when cranked..
sounds like a cheap transistor amp from walmart.
