  • Ofra recorded one of her last songs in 1999, only several months before she died in London at the Abbey Road Studios called „Tara’ab” which means „Joy”. Linda Magdalena Cullberg Lampenius, better known as her stage name Linda Brava, a Finnish classical concert violinist accompanied her on this track. The song appeared on Linda’s MySpace in 2010, though it was never officially finished or released.
Thanks for the translation of the Arabic parts ‪@pekoopekoo123‬ & ‪@noora1138‬ ❤️
    Lyrics (English translation):
    You are the rose
    You are the rose
Love arises in me every night
Love may I never know withstand
Love arises in me every night
Because of the thorns on the rose
    I love the rose
Because of the thorns on the rose
    I love the rose
One day or night the sky above will be mine
A white angel stares at me from above
    A white angel stares worriedly
    Like an enchanting mist
He’s waiting for me with love
Because of the thorns on the rose
    I love the rose
Because of the thorns on the rose
    I love the rose
    One day or night…
    One day or night…

This was a piece that I wrote with Chris Blackwell in England. My producer Craig Leon suggested that I would feature Ofra on my upcoming CD, so we sent this song to Ofra in Israel. She wrote the lyrics and came to London in March 1999. I paid Ofra’s and Bezalel’s flight tickets and hotel rooms and the Abbey Road studio was paid from my advance money (EMI). I’m NOT accompanying Ofra on this track. This was written as a duet where I feature Ofra. But because she died, I never wanted to release this song ❤️

Thank you for your comment and for clarifying things for us! 😊
However, with all due respect, many of us Ofra's fans think that you should've released this beautiful song even more after she's passed. 😭

You always tell people how you paid for everything.. you're such a petty woman.

Well, I've also read this several times from her and I don't think either that this is of any importance now... even if it's the truth.
All we can and should do now is to honor and care for the memory of the deceased Ofra Haza.

Not her best work , but her vocals are flawless as usual ..... Even when she was dying she sounded like an angel....... Rest in peace our beautiful angel

Yes, currently this is the only version of the song we can hear.
Hopefully someday it will be mastered.

I think the translation of the Arabic part is wrong. I'm not fluent but I can tell at the beginning she says "Inta al-Ward" which means "You are the rose" and then later she sings " 'Ala shan al-shawk alli bi l-Ward ahhebi il-Ward" which means "Because of the thorns on the Rose, I love the Rose" and then "Ahhebi il-Ward *inaudible part*" = "I love the Rose *something*". Not sure if it's helpful but I would like someone to confirm it :)
