Because they invest the most amount of money into education. No other African country invests anywhere near as much money into education as South Africa and Egypt.
I wonder what university ranking source you have been looking at this year! Neither have you given the criteria of your ranking, nor the method used to compile this list. I can safely conclude that it is made up. Indulging in propaganda is the easy part, but it crumbles like a pack of cards when confronted with the facts and data.
@@cellb2619 Well, founded in 2004, the Times Higher Education ranking of at least 1,500 universities throughout the world is trusted by "families, academics, university leaders, governments and industry" among others. I rely on it myself every year simply because of its 5 pillars of "methodology" they use to rank each institution. They are 1. Teaching 2. Research 3. Citations 4. International Outlook and 5. Industry Income. They analyse "millions of citations" and "academic publications" to determine their ranking; relying on their "rich database" to draw from dating back to 2004. Hence, according to each annual ranking as far back as 2021, the top three are the undisputed South African universities of 1. Cape town 2. Witwatersrand and 3. Stellenbosch. It is the same ranking no matter who is doing the ranking. However, when it comes to the 4th up to the 10th positions, that is where the competition tightens. In 2021 The University of KwaZulu Natal of South Africa was ranked 4th. But then in the 5th position were tied five institutions of Makerere in Uganda, Durban University of Technology, South Africa, Ibadan in Nigeria as well as both Aswan and Mansoura in Egypt. In 2022 and again in 2023 Pretoria was ranked 4th and Makerere 5th. Finally, in 2024 I have not seen any change, both universities being ranked the 4th and the 5th respectively as they were the previous year. Therefore, the ranking of universities must be done methodically relying on actual data and not simply which institution is popular and which one is not. That is the reason why the Times Higher Education ranking of universities has garnered a reputation of being reliable and credible for 20 years! Could you please let me know upon what "methodology" your ranking of the "10 best universities in Africa 2024" is based.
@@cellb2619 Could you please let me know the "methodology" you have used to compile this list. If you don't, I will insist that it is simply made up, meant to misinform and that it is nothing but propaganda.
The QS International Standard for Universities placed Cairo University as the best university in Africa at 330 in the world. For your information, the three best universities in Africa are Egyptian. Do not be biased and adhere to accuracy.
