i have a two year old forest river wolf pup with this same refrigerator. it worked great the first two years. this year iv gone out three times and worked great. last weekend i went out and turned on the battery switch to let the fridge cool down over night before i put food in the next day. not working. red fuse light was on. got new fuse and soon as i touched fuse it blew. pulled fridge out and unhooked the three wires from fridge and checked the wires with a new fuse in. had power to the hot wire so i thought bad block. done a reverse check. unhooked the compressor board from compressor then un hooked all wires to board. unhooked the first circuit board and all wires. unhooked every thing there was to unhook the fridge. i put new fuse in fuse holder. started from there hooking everything backup starting from fuse block. after each hookup i had 13.7 volts coming out of what ever i hooked up. got to the compressor board and when i hooked the positive wire to compressor board it blew the fuse. so i believe the compressor board is bad. went to camper world parts and they finally found one through lippert rv parts for $132 dollars. i asked what it would cost me and they looked for a while and said $350. plus shipping. bullshit where can i buy a board with pout going through a dealer? im not paying them $250 dollars just for ordering that part. any help will be appreciated.

I absolutely hate this fridge with a passion. I’m about to throw this one in the dumpster at the rv park. It’s gone out twice in less than 4 months. It’s still under warranty but I don’t give a 💩 because I’m taking it out and running an electric fridge.

This is an excellent video on where stuff is and how to get at it on the fridge. My Everchill is the same model. It actually works great for cooling. I have to set it down to 1 in the lower compartment to stay at about 35-40. The question I have is that the compressor seems to be running all of the time. Rarely turns off. I reset the fridge by removing all power for long enough that it defaults back to the 3 setting. That appeared to help but it still runs a lot. Basically, I don't want it to wear out prematurely and don't want excessive draw on my batteries without shore power. Any ideas on why the the compressor is running a lot or is that expected?

I had a similar problem. While in the mountains with temp down into the 30s at night. It did not make sense that the frig was running near constant, and the freezer was all over the place, from -1 to +22 while the bottom was 38. I blamed the frig for running what seemed like, all the time, draining the batteries to critically low levels, so we came home a day early. After some testing I found my problem was not the Frig at all, -- it was the batteries. One of the two batteries was basically dead, and the other was feeding it and while the frig kept running, the voltage was low so it was running a lot, trying to keep up with demand. After a couple of days, I checked the batteries and they both read 9.4 volts. And the Frig was still running with the temps bouncing around from high to low. A real surprise that the Frig would fight to keep things going on such low voltage. I hooked up to shore power and the first thing I noticed -- the frig picked up in noise, its hum much more noticeable and strong sounding, and the temps after a couple of hours were spot on. At 3 setting, and not food in the box, it went to -17 top, +37 at bottom, so I reset to 1 on the settings and it moved into -1 top 41 bottom. I bought my 2022 Sunseeker used and everything has been perfect. The batteries are assisted by a roof mount solar, but I have no idea what type of model the batteries are, only that they are both, essentially, dead. This may or may not be your problem, but I would test with batteries only, then try shore power. That frig, apparently will run on some really low voltage, and while it was able to keep the bottom cool, the top freezer not so much. Yes, the furnace failed to run on our third night out -- maybe that should have been a clue the batteries were at the end of their life? I don't dry camp that much so that is my excuse.

What is the insulated coil with blue and white wires running in and out? On my fridge this coil was tie wrapped to the grill and was shorting out the fridge. On your unit the coil just appears to be hanging loose.

Hi I purchased a 2021 Summerland last year that has an Everchill #WD-282FWDC-6 freidge. I didn't notice any issues in use last year but this year we are seeing water. I want to explain it and also want to point out unlike others I keep reading we are not getting any water or even drops of water inside the fridge. I keep my camper fridge off up until two days before we plan to camp. Then I turn on and the fridge is set to (2). Any colder and our stuff freezes. We load up the morning of on say a Thurs and head between 1 to 3hrs to the campsite. We use it normally getting in/out without issues. Then say Sun morning we unhook and come home. When we open the camper to unload at home we have puddeling and streams of water leaving from underneath. I repeat not from inside but it's leaking out the bottom. So much so I have to remove the access cover underneath the fridge to use towels to soak up the water. Since it's hard to see I can't say exactly where under the bottom of the fridge it's leaking from but it's definitely coming out the bottom of the fridge. Again we don't get any water inside the fridge and the drain seems normal. I need help understanding if it's just a build up of condensation leaking from the pan inside why doesn't it do it on the way to the campsite? Why does it only do it on the travel home? Please let me know what to do to resolve it. I'm worried it will rot my floor:(.

Hello Robert - There is a water condensation tray in the back that sounds like it is full. It could be going into defrost mode too often, filling up, and not evaporating the water quick enough.

    Hello.
My fridge is the same as in the video. The fridge snd freezer are not cooling. So I pulled the fridge out snd can hear the compressor clicking 3 times every few minutes but doesn’t kick in to start working. Freezer fan is blowing warm air. Did not notice anything major when I looked and lights work in fridge. Just not cooling. Any help is appreciated.

@Jeff, as different vehicles may have slightly different fridge installations, there aren't always one-size-fits-all solutions to how to remove. If you have a specific question about your installation, please contact our team and we can help support your case.

I have a Ever chill model# WD-282FWDC and I can hear the fan kick on but the compressor is not kicking and no cooling, what can I do to figure out if the compressor is bad?

    • @wayinterglobal7898
      @wayinterglobal7898  2 роки тому

Hello - Follow these steps to identify if you are having an issue with your unit's compressor:
      1. Remove the refrigerator from the cabinet.
      2. Remove the wire grille
      3. The compressor board is attached to the compressor, remove the bottom wire.
      4. Once the wire is removed use a jumper wire and jump that terminal that you removed the wire from to the negative terminal of the incoming power.
      5. If the compressor comes on then a new main circuit board is needed. If it does not come on it needs a new compressor board.
For help with this, please contact customerservice@wayinterglobal.com or call (574) 971-4490. Thank you!

I have an Everchill unit WD-282FWDC-6 11cf model. Brand new with the camper. Have had four occasions when it failed to cool or freeze. Camping World Service department cannot find anything wrong with the unit. Batteries tested good, converter tested good, no lose wires.
During failures lights and fan working, just does not cool below 50 degrees.
We have had to throw away food stuffs when on a shore power resort full 120v power. No one seems to know what the intermittent problem is coming from. In discussion with Way they provided troubleshooting guides to CW tech, still no success. I recommended replacing the main control board but service will not do that without pinpointing the issue. Never fails when they are checking it. This is driving me crazy as we cannot rely on the fridge to work properly. Any recommendation for where to go with this to get it to work reliably?
