Just love my Cape Malay heritage. Grew up with Cape Malay Choir "Liedtjies"(Music) as we call it. My brother was part of a Malay Choir group. So close to my heart❤👏💪💃
Unfortunately we don't brother. When our Ancestors came here in the 16/1700 as slaves, they were stripped from the Malay languages and forced to speak Dutch. But they couldn't speak Dutch and they came up with a new language called Afrikaans. This language was created by the Khoi San and Malay slaves, but perfected by the Dutch colonizers(Because they were educated). Hence why us as Malay Descendents speak Afrikaans today. Afrikaans also have Malay and Khoi San words incorporated in the language. But you making me more interested to learn Bahasa😉😉😉
@@ziyaadgatab7223 no, you ancestors was Sultan (King). Blood or Fighter( Title Panglima, Megat, laksamana. In English we can call Lord/ Sir). In my country ( Malaysia). They kill British People. As a result, British & Duch bring them to cape Town. To die there. We use Bahasa and writing in Jawi that mean Borrowed from Arab Alphabet.
