If I had to present a theory on "why" Alarielle keeps them around, it would revolve on the idea of plausible deniability: she benefits from having them at her fingertips via the Spirit song, while at the same time it allows her to strike to "friendly" targets without fear of retribution. "Of course we're allies, and sorry for the dreadwood attack that wiped out your city: sadly, they're war-like and broken! It's not my fault, it's the Age of Chaos that made them like this." If a literal godess uttered words such as these, and maybe promised help in an age of conflict and dwindling hope, would you honestly push the issue?
I love the lore of the Sylvaneth, and they have some really cool models. I’m retired, and I’ve painted up over 5,000 points of them. I’ve also painted up 1,000’s of points of other factions, so I haven’t got to put them on the table yet. When I do, I e decided my Drycha and the Dreadwood would be who I would play my first game as.
This was great lore on the Sylvaneth. I am presently playing in a campaign of Warhammer; Soulbound RPG. I have listened to all your uploaded lore on the Sylvaneth to play my Winterleaf Glade Kurnoth Hunter, named Tek. It has been a great source, thanks.
I am doing a new Dreadwood army for 2024. Definitely picked for the Lore and also love Drycha and the Outcasts. I am still debating whether to go all in on the color scheme or not.
A little (a lot) off topic, do you plan on doing a book review of “The Hollow King”? I just finished it on audible and I think you’d like it! What I found really interesting was the cultural details that develop for humans living in Shyish!
Well to not alert sigmar you just have to trap the stormcast. And we saw with the phonecium (hope I spelled that right) that you can trap things in amber/tree sap. It wouldn't surprise me if Alariel could weave some sap magic and make stasis pods
Hey Doug ! amazing video once again! loving the Sylvaneth content atm. Have you got any plans for a video on the harvestboon. they are my favorite sub faction and what my 15'000 point sylvaneth army is based on! cant wait for more !
Wait why do the stormcast need to be alive for their equipment to be around? Couldn’t they still be dead but their arms and some armor was gathered up and returned?
Trespassers are trespassers. Also, Sylvaneth don’t like magics that twist nature from what’s… well natural. They kill Gloomspite all the time for growing their magic mushrooms.
So say one of us, a human, from this reality was somehow teleported into the age of sigmar Do you guys think a human could join Alarielle's faction? If so how? what do you think a human would need to do to earn her favor or to join their more fanatical factions like those talked about in this video? is it even possible if you were to show Reverence to the forests? Id love to know what everyone thinks! Im New to Age of Sigmar lore
AOS 4.0 Civil war, all grand aliences are fighting eachother. The sylvaneth fight the stormcast, Belakor fights Archaon , the vampires try to take over death and end Nagash for good since he is still recovering, and the Gargants fight Kragnos for the "most destructive" title in the realms. 😁

That is how hope to spend my retirement
You know that GW writers Just forgot how stormcast work
I'm really happy to see the next one of these already - and for it to be another Sylvaneth subfaction in particular! Thank you!
Very much enjoying the subfaction deep dives
Digging the new format Doug, give it a cool name! Like subfaction showdown
Im just getting into age of sigmar and these sylvaneth vids are super helpful
it specifically says in the books the spite/tree revs arnt elven souls.
Nice to see my favourite angriest tree people get some lore love. Many thanks from Drycha and my blob of Spite Revenants.
In the horror Anthology, Maledictions, there's a story hinting at how spite revenants are created, and it definitely could be infectious.

Really love this new format gives a good insight into each Sub-faction
I do really enjoy this new format, and I'm so chuffed you are starting with Sylvaneth

I would really like if you take the time to continue Sylvaneth subfactions one day 🙂
Coming from 40K and I think these guys are the perfect bridge. They’re are super rad
Could you recommend a book to start with?

12:30 was that a reference to the TVA from the Loki TV show from MCU?
Wait why do the stormcast need to be alive for their equipment to be around? Couldn’t they still be dead but their arms and some armor was gathered up and returned?
Keep it up with these subfactions videos.
Still wonder any reason for Sylvanesh to fight kruleboyz , they create more swamp which should be good?
Krule boyz would still chop down trees to feed the machine of war
Kruleboyz corrupt and poison the land and nature. They are the exact opposite of being good.
Trespassers are trespassers. Also, Sylvaneth don’t like magics that twist nature from what’s… well natural. They kill Gloomspite all the time for growing their magic mushrooms.
cool beans

What if she made a deal with Nurgle? Something along the line of 1 in every 100 souls go to him, to leave her realm alone.
It’s odd to me how sylvaneth are considered an order faction given they behave more like a destruction army
