What an amazing street! Love old brickwork and cobbled stones. Will definitely have to pay a visit soon. Count me in as a new sub, Chris. Looking forward to the next walk!
If you carried on walking down Watergate St. You would have found St.Nicholas' Church. Famous for its skull crossbones Gate and Christopher Marlow's grave in the graveyard.
Love old stuff but graffitti has it's place too, as long s it doesn't damage where it's done , in modern times its been a documentary on the times, historically it's invaluable, see the caves in Spain.
I'm not certain, but I think the cobbles laid long ways at each side were for cart wheels, while the middle ones were for the horses, so they didn't slip.
Great video mate, I work all round that area so will have to have a look next time I’m around
If you find anything good give me a shout please...Chris

Wow! You're walking on a street that king Henry VIII might have built. Certainly lasted longer than the heads of his wives😂🙀😹...What, too soon?
Apparently was a main route to the city via small boats that took people across the river from The Kings Stair's for a small payment...
The old warehouse building wall is built in what is called the Flemish Bond, (header and stretcher bricks.) You have a new crew member. Cheers.
