This is the standard method for most Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, something to keep in mind if you own one of those brands but not necessarily a wrangler.

This cleared my "change oil" warning which i guess initially triggered my CEL. After my oil change the CEL went away on it's own after what I think was a "drive cycle". But the warning kept coming up. Then i did what you did and it worked. Warning is gone.

That's really good but how do you turn off the check engine light that is on in the car you are using for the demonstration. That might be a little more important than a change oil light

I have a 2008 jeep jk sahara and I changed my own oil but there is no oil life option in my dash and I followed this procedure even though I had not had the message on i just went by the mileage needed since I just bought it and the sticker said it was needed now. What I want to know is, is there a way to know my oil life? And if I followed this procedure how do I know if it is reset if there is no oil life to display on my dash?
