Yes, the Seventh Day Adventist Church helped us. They gave us clothes and food, mostly canned. Later when the kids were older they ended up going to that church and to this day we are still friends with those same people. I never had anyone spit on me, but a lady at a cheese give away denied me government cheese and butter because I didn't have a $1.00 donation. My friend gave me the dollar so I can get my government food.
I have been homeless 16 times in my life repetitiously, but it will not happens again a 17th time or more!

I was homeless in 1983. I had 2 children. One 5 and one 4. No fun. At the time my children didn't know they were homeless.
