Most underrated rapper of all time. Brother ali, although i know your humble, i hope someday the world will give you the credit you deserve. Every time i'm forced to listen to trap, i rinse my ears out with the entire shadows on the sun album. That album is easily top ten rap albums ever made. You genius you
The Brother has been my favorite ever since I heard him, consistently slanging at a level that's unheard of, the truness is what gets me! Best of all time!
God this is sooooo good! Lyrically it's some of his best work! His flow is unreal on this! Especially considering it's not cleaned up, cut dubbed and tuned! Just killer! His work with ANT is usually what I like the best, heavy and fierce... Seems like most of his with jake1 is more mellow and mature, this throws that out the window! Gritty and grimy as my feet! So wish I found this years ago! I'd be rockin tha cassette shirt til it feel apart! And having a physical version of this to rock out... Shit man... Better late than never... Ali's always relevant I'll be bumpin this if I make to 80! Hope he's spitting it til he's 80!
not many people can get away with releasing a cd of demos but Brother Ali pulled it off and it's fantastic. I listen to this as much as I listen to any other album.
Can this man do anything less than stellar? Ali doesn't seem to lose a single step with each release that drops. And Jake...these beats are crazy. Thank you guys so much for this. It made my day.
'I expect more from myself than Id ever expect from you' This is my first time hearing this album but this line resonated so well I was able to sing along to it.
Brother Ali shared a lot of techniques inside the book called *HOW TO RAP*, along with *HOW TO RAP 2*. Brother Ali says this as one of his insights in them: "I think people should record themselves, if you’re able to do that, and really use it as a way to develop what you’re doing. When we record the rough versions of songs, we record those at [producer] Ant’s house on an old cassette four-track, and that’s when we work that kind of stuff out - we’ll just try playing with the delivery of things."
Love you brother Ali .. I discovered you 4 years ago...On UA-cam.. I clicked on the thumbnail for 'Self Taught'.. Rest is history... You helped me get through some dark days.. Shed light on what real life is about.. real talk. I will always support anything and everything you put out. Rhymesayers for Life. If I have just request.. PLEASE make your next project with ANT. There is NOTHING in the world like Brother Ali on Ant beats.
Brother Ali I love you man. Your music, your messages, and the example you set for all people is truly inspirational. Whether or not anybody agrees with me that you're the dopest, 1. You are the dopest. 2. Nobody can argue against the fact that you are one of the coolest artists alive. 3. And you have rely changed my life...I really hope I get to see the show in MA coming up it would be my first!
***** hell yeah! And that's what I mean. Just a genuine dude making genuine music. There is no fronting involved. I have so much respect for him. And am so jelly of you lmao
said it before I'll state it again....Ali. Verbal pugilistic ability seeded in genius artistic nobelity author of truth and brave enough to paint the tragic reality
This is fucking dope. This whole album. This reminds me of B.O.B back before he got big, when he had soul and purpose. NO comparison to bob now. Brother ali pulled some shit I never heard of it, and it caught me off guard. hella tight.
RSE FOR LIFE! However please Brother just one track with Mayday. Or even Rittz would be amazing to hear. You are number 1 son. Keep this Soul Music coming.
My mouth was wide open and chills went down my spine in the last verse of "Digital Age". I could only dream to craft a verse with that kind of subject matter, rhyme scheme, and flow. Holy shit.
When my friends and family would mock me "Well Okay". Im not here to put anyone down, but I am here to give good vibes and just a vision of hope. I didnt write this song, but I loved it as if it was my own, and sent it to those that needed courage most. We are okay
Barely heard this... I was missing out. its a classic from start to finish, so what we've all come to expect from the brother. Brother Ali is up on that list with KRS-ONE, RAKIM, and G.U.R.U. (R.I.P.). Rhymsayers is a crew full of fire spitters; straight demons helping guard the banner of real hip hop.
i wasn't feeling jake one's prod in Mourning, but it's BUMPING here. hyped for the next LP after 1 listen I can say this is my favorite since the Champion EP
Brother Ali Moves Crowds; Is a Master of Ceremonies. He an MC to The Fullest Extent. More Then That He is Hip Hop (Higher Infinite Power Helping Oppressed People)
Start a riot / heart of a lion....old soul with new influences/ shoes that fits/bliss/kiss/tune of his totally awesome badbutt bars Destroyin it! Keep it up Bro!
This album is FANTASTIC. I played the first track on my PC and I'm like, fuck this. And I immediately threw on my headphones and laid on my bed staring at the ceiling. I got lost for a while.
Hey Adrian, these are 10 songs (demos) that Brother Ali had made while making his album we released last September. These are raw, gritty versions that he wanted to release to the fans. Head to Rhymesayers' website or view the video info up top for all the details. Peace.
Pinezall it's intended to sound that way and I personally I love it! It's a breath of fresh air very much needed. I just wish I could afford to get a shirt myself now, by alas the new baby girl comes first eh?
"Beast on the beats when y'all were peein' in sheets" He made a real statement with this release .. This guy is hip hop right down to his bone marrow. Truly one of the REAL ones

How to rap has so much input from so many indie artists... was definitely worth the read.
