      That's a fair point. He should have said that the check won't clear until he sees her written confession in the family group chat.

    Huge respect for his kindness and maturity! But I can’t help feeling disappointed by his parents, especially his mom, for not standing up for him.

    I love this story (why) because he chose to Rise Above It by NOT lowering his standards to aunt Eva's manipulation, instead he helped her out and made Eva realize the error of her ways... much love, props & respect to this kind soul... However I'm still upset at how his own Parents especially his own Mother didn't defend or stand up for him == to me that's the ultimate betrayal == is when you're Parents would NOT defend your honor (smh)

    They should have wrote the check then totaled the lost gifts that year, subsequent Christmases and birthdays over nine years also interest, emotional damages and such.
    Then demanded she pay the remaining balance already before you pity gift non family like her. As she still owed them greatly.

      See, I disagree. Luca may not have made a massive impact on a self important ass like Eva, but there’s the possibility that others in that room, besides seeing Luca as a better person, now realize they shouldn’t be cowering behind Eva and her BS. Maybe, just maybe, some of them will question the next narcissist in the family and protect the next Luca.

      @@rayxav naw, he lost. She treated him like trash and still got him to pay her debt. She got the W

      @bigbossyXD not as simple as winning or losing as a stand alone, yes he won as his achievements, his wealth and connections came from how she treated him and his determination to improve, but giving the money was also to show her that he's not like her and how you can still one up someone without having to negatively affect them, the aunt is definently going to remember this and not exclude anyone like the way she did to OP

    • @Henry.25
      @Henry.25 8 днів тому

      @yusuf266 or OP will become the person everyone tries to get money from, because he has shown that even when he doesn't like the person, all they have to do is apologize ( and by extension, have a sob story) and he will give them money.
      They may even leave him alone for a while, after the display of whatever that was, determination, perhaps? But when something breaks, they will bother OP for money to fix it.

    Wow, Aunt Eva got more than she deserved. How the OP was treated by the family for nine years was despicable.

    Some times it's the one you hurt that turns out to be the better person in the future and they'll end up helping you against their better judgment but simply because you're family ... 😊

    aunty just pretend to feel sorry, but inside she just tell herself, yeah kid just spill your guts there, i just pretend to keep listening as long as i got the money, even though i lied and made other family members resents you, you not invited to any gatherings, your parent quickly think you a thief, and your presents not even returned until now, and i still got your money how stupid you are.

      But then again, if he did make her go to those resources to help her and also didn’t sell the house, he could easily do some damage as well so technically, she would have to adhere to the conditions or face backlash that she lied, but it wouldn’t surprise me ifshe was pretending to be sorry anyway

    I know some people think it’s stupid. They get the Aunt some money however sometimes karma can kill someone with a little kindness because trust is never given. It’s been forged and his family break that trust. like OP say if she was a little kinder then maybe he wouldn’t have any strings attached to the money.
