These normally don't illicit anything more from me other than a, "that sucks" or a "that's cool." This one, however, hit me harder. I could feel the tears welling up by the time the father was in the art gallery. Hope this story is real, and that everyone in it finds their happiness too.
still fake though, no one needs to work on a portfolio for college applications, AFTER they have already been accepted
Same 😊
Still a great story... ❤
I love the grandma. Everyone needs one like her. She has seen this coming from day one. She is not surprised to see this happening. The family keeps saying that if you leave, you are out but then changes and say you can not leave. They have no right to stop you. The only reason your sister's are trying so hard to stop you is that they weren't as bold as you when they were your age. Your mother wore them down just like they are trying with you. Instead of being jealous and trying to munipulate you, they should be trying to help your mother see that this time, it needs to be different. She needs to stop. There is a line. They have given up what they wanted for her, and now, for once, let someone have what they couldn't have. Your mother needs to be stopped, and your father needs to be the one to do it. He gave up his dreams to support hers. Now, for once, she needs to listen to him and let you go and live your dream. Your father kept all those things throughout your growing years, and that is good. But it would have been good if he hadn't buried his head in the sand and just let it go on. The time for change has come for you. You have your plans for the future in place. And as they are so worried about you failing. You can only fail if you don't try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
If she has seen it for years and did nothing, she’s a pos too
WOW
@@BeeLynda-m3m Thank you 😊
What elegant words and the truth!
Her father wasn’t strong to stand up for his girls! The mom is a controlling person! I can see the girls’ creativity came from their dad! The dad should have stands up against his wife! He gave up his dream and he should have told his wife to let the girls have their! Don’t have them hate you for making them give up their dreams because you are afraid of them failing. That what life is all about being there when they needed them and emotional supporting them. Be the one cheering for them not tearing them down because you are afraid of them not succeeding!
Thank you 😊
“Sawdust and broken promises.” Sounds like a country song.
19:05 I’m so sick of people playing the stress and pregnancy card just because they don’t want to deal with something. I went through 3 near death pregnancies and not once did I pull that shit.
Can you imagine this woman, knuckling down her husband’s inner artist, then it popping up in each child she has? Each time it pops up, she knuckled down three out of four family members. But this one got away from her. Not finished listening yet, but the mom either failed herself or was too scared to try and then went into teaching.
The grandma was badass❤❤❤❤
i'm amazed the dad stayed with the mom after trying to puppet all of their lives
"At Tomorrow's family dinner, Mom said...." anyone with two brain cells to rub together thinking about that.
Grandma is awesome
Lucky, she had her talking mice to help her sew her ballgown! 😂😂😂
lol “the roast can burn”
the health of this family depends on a 17 year old girl staying home and giving up her life? imagine being so dysfunctional that your youngest daughter going to college will wreck your family.
She can’t leave, who’ll babysit? And the second sister is having a kid, who will be passed off to Maddie every possible opportunity. She’s supposed to take the internship, but be expected to be available whenever they need her for their childcare. Evenings, every weekend, it’ll never end.
They need someone to babysit. That’s it in a nutshell. They’re losing their free childcare and servant…
I imagine a room somewhere stuffed with people being instructed on the types of stories to writes. Maybe given a list of suggested topic and mock story lines...and a business of writing for utube for profit. Instead of scamming...entertaining. Another room, Sci-Fi writers, another- Historical fiction...
NGL
Would be a good foot in the door for writers if a well known company were to attempt this.
"full scholarship plus stipend and grandma's support". was everything this story had. lol.
Lindseys just scared that when Maddie succeeds then Lindseys false "front" of success is actually failure in the worst kind ...
Who comes here for attempts at writing and who is here for REAL STORIES…I’ve read this story without all the fluff
NTA, they treated you like a servant, now they can serve themselves 🫡
I like Grandma’s style
Because she's the fairy godmother of this made up story - abusive homes don't have safe people in them.😔
Oh noez! They won’t let her bring her car to NYC. They even think that’s a punishment.
And way too many think “One last chance!” is some kind of 4D checkmate. But it’s a threat. And it’s only good if you stick to the rules. If you say it, and they call your bluff… what then? The only winning answer to the threat is “Promise? If I refuse you now, does that mean you’ll stop trying to pressure me into doing stuff? Is this REALLY your final ultimatum? ‘Cause I’m kinda busy, and I don’t want to have to keep dealing with this argument.”
This was the BEST story I’ve heard in a while! Now just fix your gameplay🤣
Even if mom went to therapy, I'd make her pay for the "If you leave, you're disowned" bit. "I took you at your word, mother. Since I had my own life to live, and won't let you control it to it's tiniest detail, by your own command, I am no longer your child." "But I've changed!" "How do I know that? You could just be trying to find a new way to get control of me. I'm starting to be successful; maybe you want to be able to crow that you supported me all these years."
People who make threats like that never think of the fact that those words will be remembered LONG after the situation has passed.
We all know people that this happens to. My sis with her daughters. One the favorite, the other dead beat. None of it is true.
This is a typical mother being a narcissist, and wanted to control everything, and everybody lives and everybody in it
"She thinks she can pressure me because she knows I'll need their money(for the art university), now they know I don't(because of grandma's college savings)"
She claimed too be on a full scholarship!
You can tell it was written by a writer because of the detailed description with visuals, what each person says in the moment and their tone and reaction. Like reading a novel. Unless the writer took a true story and wrote it like a novel in detail, which most likely involved made up parts because no one is this detailed when telling what happened to them. “Took her hand. She pulled away.” Is too descriptive lol. Like a writer would write.
Finally some good creative writing, at least the dialogue at the end.
Such a great story and happy ending!
Good story of truth and courage. Didn’t go the way I was sure it would.
She will paint her way to fame and fortune! Quite the formula.
Wow, this was a good one.
This coulda been a good movie
Mom was wrong for doing this to her children.... she stifled her children's dreams & happiness.. that's not what good parents do.. the problem here is everyone in this family allowed mom to do this nonsense, they allowed her to dictate what they should be instead of what they want or could be. She didn't care about her kids happiness. was mom jealous of her kids dreams & aspirations?.. I just don't get it..
I think this is the 28th version of this story I've heard
Similar stories but this had almost no errors. It’s a pretty good story OP did have a lot of support and tools ( full scholarship, college fund from grandma and possibly college fund from parents if they give up ). Most people in this situation have none of that, just courage to get the hell out!
Nice creative writing exercise
I absolutely love this story the end had me smiling n awwing. That's what's up
Tomorrow's family dinner?
An excellent story. Thanks for sharing this.
Why does it have 3 scenarios? Edit it properly and separate out the 3 versions. Seriously, she has to show them the scholarship email 3 times?
Where are the two sister's husbands or baby daddies?
Live this story
non negotiable. ...hhaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. talk about arrogance
Why is the narrator talking so fast? Is someone chasing her?🤔
fake, no one needs to work on a portfolio for college applications, AFTER they have already been accepted
something about this VERY fictional story seems lazy and not creative
I needed a minute after listening to this one. Beautiful ending
Narration is too fast and the background video is distracting.
You actually sit here and look at the video while listening? Be normal and use it as baground noise while you do something else. 🤣
