  • "One Hit Wonders" are becoming more prevalent now than ever before. Its gotten to the point where every new artist that comes out gets called one. You could say that everyone just expects the worst nowadays but I don't think that's the case.... What's the real reason why this is happening?

Keep in mind this isn’t a “hate video” and none of my videos are. I’m just a music listener that enjoys listening to music from people who are clearly PASSIONATE about making music. I’m not someone who is catering to introspective rap lovers cause some of that sh*t is mad boring to me. I just admire passionate people in their respective fields and dislike PEOPLE WHO AREN'T.
And LASTLY I'M BACK!!! I worked on this video for 5 months straight so I love and thank y’all for watching especially if you're a RETURNING supporter and hopefully I will see y’all again in a month….

He’s not talking about other countries legendary artists that flopped in the U.S. but successful in their native country. So technically here he did “fall off” bc if you live in the U.S most people do not bring him up anymore. No shade to him anymore i’m sure he’s great!

Music has been this way since the 40s 50s. The industry picks who they want to blow up. It's more uncommon that a talented artist will blow up. There has always been more untalented one hit wonders than good artist with huge long term success. When the formula is followed it's easy to get a hit. Creativity is much less important than generating money.

This is a damn good video and I haven't even finished it yet. I've been saying for the past couple years that the real ones carrying the rap industry right now are the producers. As long as you got a good catchy beat, a memorable hook, and lyrics that a 5th grader could write you can make it. I feel like SoundCloud heavily multiplied the amount of talentless "rappers" more than anything. But in my opinion SoundCloud producers have some of the most creative and timeless beats than I've ever heard on mainstream radio.

Early rappers were midwit theater kids trying to be cool and hood while pushing their basic ass racial marxist messaging. Modern rap is a mix of jewish mullatto industry plants and violent gang members, neither of which are concerned with a pretense of intellectualism.

Great video, my friend. I don't know how surprising it is, but this is probably the first discussion I've ever come across of what it is to be a one hit wonder in my 32 years. The term, for me, immediately evokes bands from the 60's and 70's more than anything, and has never seemed loaded beyond an objective statement. It's probably my musical taste that makes me more ignorant of one hit wonders in the present day, but my guess would be the graphs of public interest in one hit wonders, throughout genre and decade, would be similar enough, with sharp spikes out of relative obscurity followed by gradual declines with similar slopes. I have enough faith that the power of a good song will always be enough to trump any otherwise negative perception of its artist's talent, held onto for however long, should everyone involved be so lucky that this one good song gets the necessary exposure. The artist vs the individual debate obviously complicates things.
