@dwong121 I can dig it. My American brethren are not known for their sensitivity to international issues, or for their knowledge of the intricacies of identity, etc., etc. I have given up trying to explain their general lack of ignorance and refusal to show any appreciation for people's individual differences. As for myself, I support independence-loving people all over the planet. No need for us to snipe back and forth here. I think we understand each other. Rock on, Linsanity....
@wwang78 ..because Jeremy Lin is smart enough to realize the difference between a ethnicity and a place. "Chinese" is a ethnicity, "Taiwan" is a place.
@dwong121 I'll settle the arguement on Jeremy's behalf...because it's obvious most are missing the point.... he has already made known for many years his main identity, one that he holds close to his heart, and is his main purpose--- He is a devout Christian!!!!
wait...so he was already signed by the knicks long time ago right???? and then he went to d-league. and now he's back in the knicks again?? im confused...
@dwong121 Not sure where you live, but here in Taiwan there is quite an important distinction between the two. The Chinese -- as in the nationality, not the ethnic origin -- take every opportunity to deny the legitimacy of Taiwan as an independent nation. Jeremy Lin's father did a recent interview where he stressed "Jeremy is Taiwanese. We are a 9th generation Taiwanese family. We are Taiwanese." So, yes, to some it does matter, only because the bully that is China cannot claim anyone it wants.
@NiarLiu No... Very little of what you write is straight and clear. Luckily for you, I spend enough time around people who mangle the language that I can decipher what you (probably) mean. You want to learn something, let me know. If you want to keep throwing temper tantrums here and sounding silly, be my guest....
@wolfwilliams yes so what if his father said that. he STATES WITH HIS OWN MOUTH NOT HIS DAD THAT HE PROUD OF BEING CHINESE AND PROUD HIS FAMILY IS FROM TAWIAN. i do not see jeremy lin's father playing basketball. it just stupid that tawian people is so eager to claim him there but he represent asians
@wolfwilliams you can say whatever you want but then why did jeremy say HE PROUD OF BEING CHINESE (NOT TAWIANESE) AND PROUD HIS PARENTS FROM TAIWAN) i never even thought about his ethnicity i always thought he portrayed asians from all over but clearly taiwan wants to claim jeremy. his parents may be from taiwan but jeremy lin is born in the us with a us centizenship not taiwan. plus his great grandmother is from mainland china. u should watch the video and know your facts. I'm proud of lin
for all taiwanese, chinese, we're.. in AMERICA.. there is only ASIAN AMERICAN..no philipines american, malaysian american, japanese, korean american..BS.. it's ASIAN AMERICAN man !
@dwong121 yeah.. apt reply... gosh to j lin it doesnt matter...enjoy the game and his success guys... keep politics away here guys... ur ruining everything...
@wolfwilliams clearly you're trying to prove to EVERYONE that you're right since BASICALLY EVERYONE who posted comments had something bad to say about yours. im not gonna waste my time say whatever you please
Taiwanese becomes more and more like Korean: So all successful Asian people are Taiwanese as long as his relatives have stayed in Taiwan for days, right? feel satisfied?
@milzips In a video interview conducted by Elie Seckbach, he asked Lin how it felt to be representing so many people. Lin responded by stating, "It's humbling, a privilege, and a honor. I'm really proud of being Chinese, I'm really proud of my parents being from Taiwan. I just thank God for the opportunity."
@milzips I agree with both @dwong121 and @opsvideo2008 we speak all the same languages same hair color skin color. despite the fact that he is from tawian he still CHINESE. just like americans they may represent their town or city but they are still AMERICANS. Jeremy lin clearly know he's CHINESE AND HIS PARENTS FROM TAWIAN don't believe me CHECK THIS VIDEO
@swtluvvie16 Where did you learn how to write? And here in Taiwan, "mainland China" does not exist. "Mainland" implies that the island of Taiwan is somehow affiliated with "the mainland." It's not. So, you learn something before you come on here pointing fingers and accusing someone else of ignorance.
i believe jeremy lin is human...
@lionheart1989 The name of the song is "300 Violin Orchestra"
Lin is BORN AGAIN ASIAN
Fields is from Stantford

@opsvideo2008 Taiwan is not a region of China.
@swtluvvie16 That doesn't say much for New York, I'm afraid.....
@dwong121 I'll settle the arguement on Jeremy's behalf...because it's obvious most are missing the point.... he has already made known for many years his main identity, one that he holds close to his heart, and is his main purpose--- He is a devout Christian!!!!
