With this done, everything I need to fabricate to get the engine started is complete. HUGE check mark on the old to do list. Now it's just installing some small parts, adding fluids, and making sure HP Tuners is playing nice and I can fire it up. Thanks for being a part of this everyone. Really excited to get this thing off jack stands and moving under its own power soon.

My reward for removing a massive PITA CR-V alternator was watching this video.
This build is truly impressive, Jeff. I cannot wait to see it run!
Still one of my favorite channels for sure. So under rated.

Thanks Aaron. If watching a video on my channel is even one person's reward for anything, I'm doing ok. It's going to run soon. Really excited! Looking forward to more 802 Garage content too!

Thanks Jeff for posting this how to! I'm doing a very similar swap, and this is super helpful. The entire series has been an inspiration, keep it up!

Great vid Jeff! Everything is turning out perfect, you're obviously doing your homework before you tackle a job.

I do research things pretty exhaustively before doing the work. Makes things easier for filming and editing as well if I can do it all in one go.

Really great video! Super informative. Good to see the bumper cover on!

It's good seeing progress all over. Hopefully this vid will help with your LS swap too. Same things apply, just need to figure out what your fitting thread pitch and length is on the Mercedes rack. And to make sure the LS pump provides whatever pressure is needed for the Merc rack too. Knowing the Germans, I'm sure you'll need some exotic setup.

Thanks! Did you end up adding a cooler to your power steering system?

Fully Spooled hey, no I haven’t given it any thought. I guess I’ll she how she does cooler-less. Worst case scenario, I have the stock 1uz oil cooler and I can repurpose that. Your upside down return banjo is a stroke of genius!

Yeah I have my 91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD that I will be working on as well as the 1974 Bricklin SV-1 that I've been neglecting in my garage. That car needs a LOT of work. Other than that I'll be starting my Learning to Drift series where I actually drive the SC and start getting it sideways. Thanks for the compliments!

How did you go about figuring out what adapter parts you needed to put the PS lines in? Like is there a book or something with a list of different possible fittings you picked and chose from? Just feel like I wouldn't even know where to start on that.
I am excited to see the engine start, too! Not just you man.

    • @FullySpooled

No there's no book that I'm aware of. I just did a ton of digging around on forums to find the fittings that would work. Fortunately other people have done this swap before and I stumbled on some build threads that had info like this: www.clublexus.com/forums/performance-and-maintenance/749172-diy-ls1-motor-mounts-ls1-t56-swap.html
All you really need to do is make sure your pump puts out about the same pressure as the rack requires and then figure out the thread pitch and length for your pump and rack holes, then convert them to -6AN with fittings (or whatever hose size your pump uses from the factory) and find a compatible size power steering hose. Really just lots of research.
And thanks, glad others are excited too!

brandjayfab I’m using LSA manifolds from a 2009ish Caddy CTS-V. I’ll have an episode on those soon.
