    I think it's so cool that you're talking about trying to get pregnant "in real time" so to speak. So many of us spend so many years terrified of getting pregnant and when we DO want to get pregnant we have no idea what is going on with our bodies.

    • @ameliajoanne
      @ameliajoanne 4 роки тому +80

      hi, stoma owner and ulcerative colitis patient here! hannah still has her rectal stump and the rectum is a biiiiig site for inflammation with UC. having active inflammation in the rectum increases our risk of bowel cancer the longer we experience inflammation, so removing the rectal stump is important. however, the two pathways to remove the stump involve surgery that can cause scar tissue to the reproductive organs. not much is really known about this but it’s generally considered safer and more viable to have kids before having future surgeries. there are probably other reasons hannah is choosing now too, but medically this is something that weighs on us ostomates a bit more than most people

      @@SuperHackwurscht Yes, I get this is 100% part of not only the timing, but also having a proper talk with Dan about whether they want kids. But I'm sure other people who get a similar ultimatum go "ok, fair enough, in that case I definitely don't want kids", and I'd love to know what 'wanting kids' really feels like! Is it that nebulous 'some day that would be nice' feeling, or should it be more like being really broody and baby-obsessed... I just don't know!

    Trying to conceive can be such a mental mind fuck! I think it's very brave to be so open about it. There is still so much stigma around the whole process. Thank you for your honesty. I'd be interested in a video about equal parenting. Me and my partner have a one year old and try to share as much with child care as possible (same time off for parental leave, lots and lots of communication, ...), but then there's breastfeeding etc. It's definitely a journey to break the classic mold for parenthood where mom stays at home and dad goes to work...

    Yesss!! Pregnancy announcements/baby vids are cool but I'm so thankful/excited for this series because I feel like there's so much more to it (the baby making process) than what people tend to share in pregnancy announcement videos (especially for people with PCOS/endometriosis/other reproductive system related conditions). Also, for me, I relate sooo much to the first "period???" thing you had after getting the coil taken out because I get those aaaaall the time (whereas I only get a REAL period about once or twice a year - PCOS), and then I'll log the bleeding as light because it's a little more than spotting, and then Clue is like oop! new cycle! and I'm like... NO!!!
