- We've been crazy busy trying to get our older gardens mulched and also start some new garden beds. It's been difficult getting out to pickup loads of wood chips this year. An answer to prayer we had 3 large deliveries made here this week!

I know exactly how you feel. The power company was trimming the trees along the power lines last year and I spoke to them and they dumped the chips on my property. I've been slowly working on the piles and I love them.

We got 4 loads of chips this year. We saw one truckload outside a restaurant so we waiting about 5 min. and got a load that way.

+Jocelyn Gaul No you don't need to wait to put them on. You just have to make sure you plant in the soil and not in the wood chips. This is the 4th year for some of our mulch gardens. They just keep getting better and better!
+Homestead Acres when planting should you move the chips away from the plant until established ?
Also what are your thoughts on using the colored mulches with veggies?

Ok I'm a rookie, I just had to cut some trees down, I have a bunch of wood chips now, but I'm not ready for a garden yet.
Any suggestions on what I should do??
